I'll let you know when to start the music.
1317 words.
You looked around the room with a shrug, nervous to even utter a word. You knew a lot about the Divine Warriors that everybody else in this room hadn't a single clue about. They deserved answers.
You glanced at Aphmau. She seemed to have something on her mind, and confusion was written over her expression. Could she have possibly been remembering a few things as well?
Y'know, considering the fact that she could barely remember who she used to be?
In speaking of which, you'd promised yourself that you'd talk to Aphmau sometime soon. The two of you needed to go through a lot of things about the Divine Warriors, the significant role you had played in her life once before, who she used to be...
The reason why you had come to find her in Phoenix Drop.
From the very beginning, you had been so bent on trying to find Irene, and once you had, you had found out that she had turned a new leaf; started a new life.
And the worst part was, she didn't even remember you...
"(Y/n)? Maybe you should get some rest. You seemed a little spaced out," Garroth's voiced soothed as his gentle touch grasped your forearm. You blinked, suddenly realizing that you had been staring at Aphmau. You exhaled a deep breath, a light blush dusting your cheeks.
"Um, yeah. Of course," you muttered. You looked to Katrina, signalling her over to you as you walked. She quickly followed while Garroth stayed back in Aaron's room to talk to Laurance.
"So," Katrina started, "what's on your mind?" You gazed at her with a small smile. She could read you like a book.
"A lot, actually. At this point, I don't want to think of anything at all..." Katrina nodded as she opened the door to a room on the ship that was once yours. You weren't exactly sure if Laurance and Katrina still shared it. There, you spotted Ruby, splayed across the bed Katrina usually slept in. You smiled.
"It looks like she's had a lot to do while we were gone," you stated sarcastically. "We should let Ruby join us on expeditions in the future," you suggested. Katrina shrugged as she shut the door behind her.
"Only if she wants to. She didn't want to come on the expedition we just got back from. She said it would make her feel "uncomfortable"," Kat quoted. You raised a brow in curiosity, trying not to stifle a laugh.
"She said that? I'm surprised she understands the concept of being "uncomfortable", considering that's all she ever does to people," you orated. Katrina nodded in agreement, her eyes wide.
"That's exactly what I said! But, she just shrugged at me before leaving the room." You just shook your head.
Both you Katrina continued to talk about anything and everything that popped up in conversation. You carefully avoided the topics regarding Irene or the Divine Warriors. You needed a break from the subject.
As the two of you chattered, a small, tired groan rang out from where Ruby was sleeping. You chuckled.
"Is the 'sleepy-head' awake yet?" you inquired loudly as you got up from your position on the floor. Ruby's head shot up in surprise at the sound of your voice.
"(Y/n)?" she asked, rubbing her tiredly. She smiled before sitting up on the bed.
"You're back? When did you get here?" she asked. Katrina sat beside her on the bed, ruffling Ruby's hair gently. Ruby pouted as she attempted to fix her already messy bed-head.
