"Garroth?" you questioned, your eyebrows furrowing in perplexity. Your eyes met said person's own. His blue eyes, the same. His blond hair, the same.
His presence, not.
"How--what are you doing here?" you inquired suddenly, taking a small step backward.
Something didn't feel right.
"I...thought I called your name earlier?" you chuckled breathily as Garroth neared closer, causing you to step back slightly. Something wasn't right.
He didn't respond, rather, smiled and shrugged. Creepily. As if he were a predator and you were his prey. And, no...his eyes didn't look the same. Their colour wasn't infused with the same type of kindness Garroth usually carried with him. Instead, it was replaced with something...sinister.
Evil.
Before you could register the thought, two arms wrapped tightly around your waist and a pair of lips met your own. Your eyes widened in shock. This...this was all wrong. It felt wrong. The kiss was rather forceful and rushed---impatient. As if well-awaited.
But not in the good sense.
And then, you shoved him away, out of breath, gasping for air. You took a few frantic steps away Garroth's form. You read his expression.
He was mad. Insulted. He was filled with a certain furry---a rage---that he needed to vent out.
'This isn't Garroth,' you thought, 'there's no way'. And even if it was, why did he come from the opposite direction in which you had left him?
"You're...you're an imposter---mph!" You were immediately cut off by a sharp pain and the sudden feeling of being thrown backward. You yelped as your back collided harshly with the trunk of a tree. You groaned, glaring up through your lashes at your imposter of an opponent. You placed your hands upon the tattered ground, only to hiss in pain. You quickly tore your hands away from the dirt glancing down at them briefly, and gasping.
They were splintered with what looked to be small shards of glass. And suddenly, the splintering sensation spread to the rest of your lower body. You quickly jumped to your feet looking around at ground beneath you.
Glass. The dirt was covered in shards of sharp glass, poking and prodding, shining in the dim light the sun provided.
And then, you heard him laugh.
But it wasn't Garroth's laugh.
"Quite exciting, isn't it? It's a new power. Do you like it?" Your breath hitched as your head jerked toward your opponent. His mouth had stayed shut, and his gaze was focused on you. Your eyebrows creased in confusion.
He hadn't spoken a word.
So, who had?
"Who are you? Where are you?" you questioned rather aggressively. "I will find you and I will destroy you!"
The same voice laughed another taunting laugh. "I'd like to see you try." And with that, the imposter charged at you with fiery eyes, his combat boots unaffected by the shards of glass of the floor; rather, shattering them underneath the soles of his shoes.
He swung toward your face and you dodged the hit, sliding between his legs (ignoring the pain of the glass shards on the ground) and swiftly kicking under his legs, causing him to fall backward.
And you ran.
You headed toward the direction the imposter had come from, your legs carrying you as fast as they could go. Your skin began to emit a faint glow, and your relic buzzed with activity. You could feel your heart pumping through ears as blood rushed through your veins. You panted heavily.
