A/n: Wow guys! I didn't actually think we'd reach 1k reads before next week! Thank you so much! Expect a VERY heated make-out scene. Not in this chapter, but maybe the next.... (or maybe it will be in this chapter...)
Also, I was legit dizzy when I wrote this chapter. MCD Garroth has got me spinning round in my head...
Word Count: 1210
Your Point of View:
"Are you okay? Is your breathing under control? How many fingers am I holding up?" Garroth chuckled from behind me.
"You know, she has to be given time to answer those questions. Especially if you want a response." I sighed.
"Sorry. I'm just worried about her," I responded. Garroth lightly kissed my forehead.
"It's fine, love." I smiled at his words. He flattered me so much, it nearly made me go dizzy. Katrina chuckled from where she lay in front of me.
"I'm fine. This was my fault. I shouldn't have lost control. You guys tried to stop me..." Katrina trailed off. Ruby held on to Katrina's hand.
"Kat... It isn't your fault. We know you're still learning to control your relic. Don't blame yourself," she said. Katrina bit her lip before nodding her head. "Okay."
I smiled to myself. Right at that moment, Aphmau walked into the room.
"Hey. I hope everything is alright in here. I figured you'd need some time alone," she said. "I hope I am not intruding!"
"No! It's fine," I quickly responded. Aphmau smiled warmly.
"Okay then. How are you doing so far Katrina?" Katrina shrugged. "I'm alright, I guess. It doesn't feel like I've broken anything. So I'm good," Kat explained. I found myself smirking when my eyes darted to Laurance.
"Seems like Laurance couldn't keep up," I commented. Garroth chuckled.
"I wonder what he's dreaming of," he wondered out loud. I held back my laughter. Ruby concealed her amusement.
"More like who he's dreaming of," she orated. Katrina groaned.
"Shut up!" Kat exclaimed. Garroth shushed Kat. "Shhh! You wouldn't want to wake up your future boyfriend," Garroth whispered. I covered my mouth in surprise.
"Garroth? Seriously?! I thought you were the sensible one!" Kat exclaimed in disbelief.
"Shhh!" the rest of us hushed, making Katrina roll her eyes in the process.
"(Y/n)'s a bad influence on you! I bet that's the case," Katrina claimed. I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not a bad influence on Garroth," I complained. Ruby chuckled.
"Actually, you probably are," she retorted. I frowned. Ruby and I went at it for a few minutes before somebody cleared their throat.
"Um, are you sure I'm not intruding? I could always come back later..." Aphmau suggested. I sheepishly smiled.
"Oh, no! Garroth were just about to get out of here. Sorry for the inconvenience!" I replied hurriedly before grabbing Garroth's arm, and dragging him out of the room.
"Thank you for the heads up," Garroth said sarcastically with a chuckle. I nodded along. "You're welcome."
Soon enough, Aphmau exited the room we were previously in, along with Ruby. She was laughing again (of course). But I didn't exactly know why.
"What's so funny?" I asked. Ruby nodded her head over to the room. Right before she was about to utter a word, a tired (yet the tiniest bit grumpy) Laurance walked out of the room. He ran a hand through his hair and groaned.
"Why are you guys so annoying? All I want to do is sleep!" he whined. Aphmau giggled and I did the best that I could to prevent myself from laughing.
"Shhh!" I hushed. "Katrina needs to rest. You're going to wake her up!" I scowled jokingly. Laurance deadpanned.
"Seriously?" he asked. He looked towards Garroth.
"Garroth, I'm gonna go to our room. Wake me up after an hour." Garroth's eyes widened as he looked towards me. Had he really forgotten that Laurance was his roommate for this expedition? I bit my lip and shrugged.
"Um Laurance, if I were tell you that there's a... change of plans, would you get mad at me?" Garroth asked (un-hopefully, at that fact). Laurance hung his shoulders low and glared at Garroth, making him wince a little in the process.
Laurance looked extremely exhausted and frustrated. We could tell that all he wanted to do, was sleep. Especially since he'd been watching over Katrina for a while. Laurance then turned to look at me, and then back at Garroth. He face-palmed before chuckling. He began to laugh. Ruby started laughing as well (only because Laurance started laughing), and Aphmau's laugh soon rang out as well. Garroth and I stood there confused. Why in a Divine's name was everybody laughing?
To make things less awkward, I slowly began to force a laugh out of me. I nudged Garroth to do the same; and soon, we were all laughing.
Suddenly, Laurance abruptly stopped laughing and gave Garroth a hard stare. Garroth immediately stopped laughing, as well as everybody else. Laurance continued to glare at Garroth.
"You tell me Garroth, where am I going to sleep?" he asked. I held my breath. Garroth looked around at everybody nervously, expecting somebody to speak up. Ruby quickly came to his rescue.
"Laurance, you could always sleep with Katrina," she reasoned playfully, as she wriggled her eyebrows. Laurance blinked at Ruby. He didn't say anything. I spotted Ruby as she bit the inside of her cheek. She was trying her best not to burst into giggles.
Laurance shrugged and shook his head before turning around and shutting the bedroom door behind him. I looked at the door, my eyes wide. Ruby held the same expression. Was he that desperate to sleep?
"Wow," she said. "I didn't think he'd actually do it." Aphmau nodded her head and crossed her arms.
"Yeah. I thought he'd ask to sleep in my room or something," she muttered. I raised my brow and stole a quick glance at Ruby. She kept staring at the door, but her fists were clenched.
"W-well! I think we're all pretty tired, right?" I concluded, desperately trying to break the ice. Ruby turned to look at me.
"I don't want to sleep alone in Kat and I's room," she replied. Aphmau smiled warmly.
"Don't worry. You could sleep with me if you'd like?" Aphmau suggested. Ruby hesitantly nodded her head.
"T-thank you," she said. Before Ruby followed Aphmau to her quarters, she turned to hug me.
"Good night," she whispered. I smiled and hugged Ruby tight.
"Good night," I responded. Ruby hugged Garroth shortly after, before skipping after Aphmau. Garroth chuckled.
"She's always happy, isn't she?" I nodded.
"Yeah. I'm having a hard time believing she's 17. She still acts like she's 12. But I know she just wants to maintain a positive attitude," I replied. Garroth hugged me from behind and kissed the top of my head.
"Are you ready to go to bed?" Garroth asked. I nodded as shut my eyes.
"Yeah," I responded. I opened my eyes as we walked to his room.
"Can we cuddle though?" I asked. Garroth laughed softly.
"Yeah."
A/n: AW! THAT WAS SO CUTE! I hope you liked it. The only reason that I didn't add the "heated session" in this chapter, was because: 1) I didn't think I'd reach 1k reads that fast, 2) it wasn't even in my notes, 3) I wanted this chapter to be fluffy. I want to make your heart flutter with this chapter...
Did it work?
