Garroth's 3rd Person Point of View:

Start the music.

The birds sounded particularly melodious to Garroth the next morning. Their harmonizing had awoken him from his peaceful slumber.

He rubbed his eyes, turning on his side to face (Y/n). 'Perhaps she isn't awake yet,' he thought, desperate to take the opportunity to gawk at her marvellous features.

But he was mildly surprised to see her beautiful (eye/colour) eyes staring softly into his own. She smiled softly. Garroth's heart melted, and he returned the gesture. He couldn't help but smile back.

Seeing her smile made him smile.

Garroth cuddled in closer to (Y/n), leaving a small trail of kisses down her neck. The sound of her bubbling laughter that followed sent a flock of butterflies to erupt in his stomach. Garroth was at bliss when he was with (Y/n).

Every moment with (Y/n) was pure bliss.

"Good morning, love," Garroth whispered tenderly, relishing her flustered state. (Y/n) blushed, biting the insides of her cheeks slightly.

"Good morning, Garroth," she replied, her face lighting up slightly. Garroth kept (Y/n) in his embrace, taking in the warmth she had to offer. She didn't protest, and instead, nuzzled her face into Garroth's chest. He sighed in content.

He wished they could stay like this the whole day. He wished he could hold onto (Y/n) for hours and never let her go.

But she'd been busy lately. They'd all been busy.

And suddenly, thoughts of the previous night filled Garroth's mind with a certain bitterness, as well as a whirlwind of emotions. Garroth frowned as he felt a nervous pang in his stomach.

He had been rude to (Y/n) last night, hadn't he? Extremely rude?

Probably.

Garroth mentally cursed himself for his behaviour from the previous night. He had let his passive-aggressiveness get the best of him yesterday.

"Love," Garroth started, earning a small hum from (Y/n) in response. "About last night... I am so sorry for the way I spoke to you and for the way I acted," Garroth apologized as he pulled away from (Y/n) to look into her eyes. "I was being selfish and rude an---"

"---Stop," (Y/n) interrupted with a firm voice, putting a finger against Garroth's lips. Garroth's face heated up slightly.

"Look, I thought about what you said," (Y/n) uttered. Garroth blinked. "You did?" (Y/n) nodded.

"Yes, and you were right. You are more important to me than anything else in this world. No matter what, I should make some for you—" (Y/n) paused as she reached out for Garroth's hand which rested just above her waist. "—for us. Because... I know you'd do the same for me."

Garroth stared at (Y/n) incredulously, replaying her sincerity. 'What did I do to be gifted with her mere presence?' he thought tenderly. Garroth grinned softly, shaking his head as he inched closer to (Y/n), leaning his forehead against her own.

"I don't deserve you," Garroth whispered breathily, his eyes meeting (Y/n)'s, and occasionally travelling to her lips. She smiled lightly, shaking her head.

"No," she started, watching as Garroth's lips nearly met hers. "I don't deserve you..."

His gentle touch caressed her softly, but the pressure of his mouth on hers was like a light, burning sensation. Gentle, but with so much passion.

A low, soft moan of disappointment emitted from Garroth when (Y/n) placed her hands on his chest to push him a small distance  away. (Y/n) chuckled and bit her lip.

"Garroth, I haven't even told you the best part, yet!" She gasped as Garroth's hands began to roam all over her body. She could feel her body slowly gravitate toward his.

"Okay, then," Garroth muttered, his voice muffled, as he nuzzled further into (Y/n)'s neck, biting there softly. "What is the best part?"

"U-um," (Y/n) stuttered, trying to ignore Garroth's distracting displays of affection. "E-early this morning, I took it upon myself to ask Aphmau for a break today... she agreed!"
Garroth's nuzzling ceased upon hearing the last few words. He shifted away slowly, looking into (Y/n)'s eyes.

"You... you didn't have to do that..."

"But I did! I just... I want us to spend time with each other. I don't want us to drift apart. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this—us—work. Even if it means taking time off."

Garroth stared longingly at (Y/n). He was more than ecstatic to hear (Y/n)'s words. He couldn't have been happier. To know that (Y/n) loved him just as he loved her...

'I would do the same for you, love,' he thought. 'And much more.'

"Have I ever told you how much I love you? Garroth inquired lovingly, caressing (Y/n)'s cheek softly. She smiled sweetly, igniting a certain fire in Garroth's heart.

"Yes," she chuckled, embracing him tightly, "you remind me everyday. And I love you for that."

And oh, Irene, Garroth loved her much more than she really knew.
