Jenny's P.O.V
Me and Emily sit in my apartment sharing a bottle of wine. We're not going out or anything, we just need a night where we can just talk about what so ever. Tyler is sleeping and me and Emily sit on the couch with each our glass.
"I've started seeing a guy." Emily suddenly says which makes me widen my eyes. The independent Emily is seeing someone! Emily is really not the type of girl that dates anyone, she thinks love is too difficult and she just wants to get laid and that's it.
"Like for real? Like serious?" I ask surprised.
"Yes." She smiles. "He's very sweet."
"He must be if you're willing to date him." I giggle. "Tell me about him."
"He's a graphic designer and he's just.. you know.. really nice to be around." She tells me.
"What's his name? How old is he?" I ask.
"His name is Peter and he's 37." She says.
"How is he?" I ask. I'm so curious right now.
"He's a really smart mouth and a bit of a bad guy, you know? He has an attitude but you know, it's the attitude that makes him hot." She says.
"Are you in love?" I ask.
"Bitch please." She laughs. "I like him and I like to spend time with him. Let's see if it sticks."
"He must be really special." I say.
"It's a long time since I've felt that I really want to spend time with a guy." Emily says.
"That's so sweet." I say.
"Ain't you ever gonna find a man?" She teases me. I feel so bad that I still haven't told her about Kyle but there's never been the right moment.
"I like that it's just me and Tyler." I say smiling.
"What about Marshall? You and him seem to become closer and closer." She says and I begin to laugh.
"Are you really suggestion Marshall as a proper date?" I ask.
"He's really a sweet guy when he wants to be." She says.
"I know but first I don't need a man who's only sweet when he wants to be." I say. "Marshall is a great guy but I could never feel for him more than just a friend and I'm pretty sure that he feels the same way around." Me and Marshall could never happen, I think we have a great friendship but that's it.
"Yeah okay." She says. "What about Tyler's dad? Have you ever thought about going back to him or anything?"
"That's not really an option." I say.
"I know that you don't wanna talk about him, but did he do something bad to you or Tyler?" She asks. All Emily knows is that we're not in touch with Kyle, nothing else.
"No, Kyle was a great guy." I sigh.
"Was?" She widens her eyes in surprise. I guess I didn't think that one through first. "Is he dead?"
"Yes." I say and look down. I get this uncomfortable feeling inside, the feeling I hate and the feeling that stops me from talking about him.
"Why.. I mean.. why haven't you said anything?" She asks.
"I don't like to talk about it Emily." I sigh.
"No one likes to talk about things like that, but you just have to." She says.
"No I don't have to Emily." I say and look at her frowning. "It doesn't really make me feel better."
"But I thought.. you know.. that you felt like you could tell me." She says. I can talk with Emily about many things but not Kyle. Actually, the only one I feel I can talk to about Kyle is Marshall, because Marshall knows how it is to lose someone so close to you.
