The next day is a very busy day where we run to a lot of meetings and it's actually nice because there isn't time to talk about us. I know that Marshall wants to talk to me about other things than work but I'm not ready for that right now. I really need time to think and I know that Marshall feels that he's in an awkward position and I get that. What I said yesterday means a maybe to him and it also kinda is. I really like him but the Tammy thing hunts me and I still feel that the situation is unsolved. I need to know what draws him to her like that, if it's not love then what is it? Desire maybe? No.. I don't understand quite why.
We walk out from the last meeting today, it's late and I can feel that I'm hungry as I haven't ate anything since this morning. Me and Marshall walk out to the car as Paul has another meeting without us then we'll get transported back to the hotel.
"Do you wanna grab something to eat together?" Marshall asks me in the car. I don't know. Do I?
"I'm not really hungry." I lie most because I don't wanna let him down like that.
"You haven't ate anything the whole day." Marshall points out. Does he notice everything? "We're gonna grab something to eat."
"You really don't have to..."
"I want to." Marshall cuts me off. It's so confusing because on one hand I want to eat with him, but on the other hand then I don't want to because I know he wants to talk about our situation.
"Okay." I just say looking out the window.
"You don't want to, do you?" He picks up my signal.
"It's not that." I sigh. It's the talk that goes with it that I don't want. "I just know it's gonna lead into talking about everything that's going on between us."
"What if I promise not to mention anything about it?" He asks.
"Can you honestly promise me that?" I ask as I have my doubts.
"Yeah if I can make you eat dinner with me." He says.
"Fine." I say.
We drive back to the hotel where we go directly to Marshall's suite. We don't say much to each other, other we talk about what to order from room service.
When Marshall has ordered then we sit down on the couch and Marshall turns on the TV."How's Tyler?" He asks me.
"Good." I say. "He's happy with the school and all."
"Cool." Marshall smiles.
"He asks about you." I admit. Tyler adores Marshall and they spend a lot of time together and Tyler definitely misses Marshall.
"Hey, you can just bring him by the studio sometime." Marshall says. "I'd love to spend time with him."
"Yeah." I just say. I don't wanna complicate things and that's why I'm not crazy about the idea. "How's it going with the girls?"
"Good." Marshall says. "Hailie is getting great grades man, I can't believe that she's mine with that brain."
"I can." I admit. Marshall is very smart and I don't care that he failed 9 grades 3 times. He's smart and he's so good with words. You don't have to be smart in school to be a genius.
"I'm good at music, that's really all I'm good at." Marshall shrugs.
"And that's not good enough?" I frown.
"I didn't say that." He says. "Hailie is smart and I ain't. She's good in school man."
"You are smart Marshall." I point out. "Being good in school doesn't make you necessarily smart."
