Maya had seen him standing there at the door.

She saw him oddly look like he'd been rejected, or replaced. She noticed the way his eyes darkened and his hands clenched. For a split second Maya felt hollow. As if nothing was inside of her, until everything came rushing back all at once.

She had told herself a million times he didn't matter, but if it was so true then why did she feel like she'd been caught sneaking out to a college party?

Her attention was still solely focused on Josh, but he didn't seem to notice. Lucas continued chatting, not seeing that Maya hadn't been listening anymore. Her hand pushed back her honey blonde hair, as she tried to distract herself and finally forget the older attractive boy.

It was certainly easier said than done. Even when she watched him from the corner of her eye push open the door and walk away from her, it wasn't any easier.

Then she realized, she never really was the type to forget, why start now?
