* ( Extra Long Chapter Special )
Everyone has a moment.
That moment when you feel like your life has taken a snapshot and everything slows down, but in reality nothing has. For Maya, this was that moment. She stood at the subway station, still and quiet. Maya found herself unable to move from the spot her feet seemed to be glued to. Everyone seemed to stop walking around her and all she could see was him.
The handsome young man standing there, with a gaze so intense she swore her heart stopped. His hair was longer now, and loose strands hung in front of his pale blue eyes that Maya couldn't stop staring into. Josh had just stepped off of the subway and immediately found her waiting for him.
They had been waiting, ever so patiently for this moment. The moment when Maya Hart turned eighteen. An adult, a woman, a girlfriend. She wanted to fling herself at him, nuzzle her head into his chest and forget everything. Yet both of them knew this day was special, and the someday Maya had been reaching for her whole life. It was a special occasion, a milestone, a holiday or anniversary of sorts.
She stood still.
He came forward.
"Maya."
"Josh."
His lips quirked into a playful smile and Maya felt herself grow weak.
Joshua Gabriel Matthews.
Her kryptonite, and strength at the same time. "I hear today is a big day." He joked, grabbing one of her hands with his own.
"It may be a certain someone's birthday today." Maya let her cool demeanor slip out as the two stood in the subway like no one else was watching.
"Really?"
"I don't know, you probably don't know them." Maya teased him, and she found her eyes looking back at his again. Instantly she froze as the power of his gaze took over her whole body and mind.
"Happy Birthday Maya." Josh whispered, before picking her up and spinning her around swiftly. By the time he set her down Maya was in a fit of giggles.
"Well aren't you excited?" She thought his excitement was adorable, and a little sexy.
"Can you blame me? I've been waiting on this girl for awhile now and she's the best thing that's ever happened to me." Maya immediately hugged him, with force and a strong grip. He responded positively and stroked the back of her head gently.
"I love you so much." Maya muttered into his shirt, never wanting to let go or loosen her grip. Josh laughed at the blonde and kissed the top of her head.
"I love you more than you will ever know." Josh said into her ear with his breath making Maya feel tingly and warm inside.
"I'm eighteen."
"Yes you are."
"Luckily there is that whole RSVP thing." Maya joked, an an attempt to make him smile. Her attempt proved successful when he flashed a grin and shook his head.
"You've always been it for me Maya, whether or not you knew it." Josh's thumb stroked her cheek and he kept an arm fastened securely around her waist. Maya quickly stood on her tiptoes to give him a kiss they both had been waiting for. They had kissed before, but when it's for something special it makes the kiss special.
No more waiting, no more boundaries, no more fear. Maya had never kissed him so passionately before, as if she was trying to tell him everything through the kiss. Before he knew what was happening she had him pressed against the subway station wall with his hands behind his back.
After awhile he pushed her back slightly.
"Woah, what was that?" Josh asked, a little breathless and excited. Maya looked red and honestly felt a little hot."We should go to your dorm." Maya blurted out. Josh widened his eyes and stifled a laugh.
"You just turned eighteen Hart." He reminded her, being gentlemanly and respectful.
"So what? I'm a woman now, lets go to your dorm."
Josh gulped and tried to hide his deep interest in seeing where this went. His desires were growing, but he was smart and had morals.
"We can go, but Maya don't go crazy. Maybe we should call down a bit." Josh suggested calmly, grabbing her hand and giving it a gentle squeeze. Maya rolled her eyes and scoffed. Her hand reached for his collar and she pulled him close.
"Go crazy? I'm seriously turned on right now and you're gonna deny the birthday girl what she wants? I don't think so."
"Okay."
