"Josh! It's nice to see you."

Josh was nervous as he warily stepped inside Shawn's apartment, welcomed by Mrs. Hart's smiling face.

"Thank you Mrs. Hart." Josh said back, peeling off his coat.

"Please call me Katy, we're both adults." She laughed, closing the door and laughing softly.

"If you're sure. . . " Josh trailed off, nervously scratching the back of his head. He walked slowly towards the couch and took a seat, waiting silently until a knock was heard at the door. Josh was surprised, as he didn't expect anyone else to be coming. Yet when Katy ran to the door and pulled it open, he saw his Mother standing excitedly in the doorway.

"Mom?" He asked quizzically, standing up to give his Mom a hug. Katy chuckled and ushered them both back inside, as Josh was still confused about the whole situation. Josh sat back down on the couch while the two women gave each other a knowing look, that gave Josh an uneasy feeling.

"I'm happy that you're here, but I'm wondering why."

Josh's Mother smiled and patted his back.

"Son, it's time we had the talk." She whispered softly. Josh jumped up in alarm at his Mother's words.

"We already had a talk!" Josh reminded her, grossing himself out at the awkwardness of it all. "Not that talk!" She laughed out, and Maya's Mother laughed too.

"We want to talk about Maya." Katy clarified, gesturing for him to sit back down. Josh cautiously sat down and sighed a breath of relief.

"Wait, why?" Josh asked quizzically. Katy clicked her tongue and looked at Josh.

"Maya is my baby girl, and I don't want her to get hurt." Katy said. Josh felt offended again. People always thought he was going to hurt her.

"I wouldn't do that." He assured her, and felt a sense of deja vu washing over him. Katy nodded and smiled at the young man.

"I know."

Josh looked back at her with a perplexed look. "Josh sweetie, we want to know if you're serious about Maya." His Mother spoke up quietly. Josh turned to look at his Mom.

"What do you mean?"

She chuckled and held his hand.

"You're a great young man, and Maya's a great girl, so make sure you want a real relationship." His Mom continued.

"You mean like, marriage?" Josh asked, growing uneasy again. Katy shook her head.

"Goodness Shawn would have you killed, but no not marriage. Just a relationship." Katy explained and Josh understood.

"I love your daughter." Josh told Katy and she stared at him happily.

"I know, and she loves you." Katy whispered. Josh laughed and stood up with satisfaction.

"Then why did we have this conversation?" Josh chuckled but his Mom pushed him back down and looked at him with a sly grin.

"Sweetie, when nineteen year olds are dating they usually like to do certain things at home or in bedrooms." His Mom said, and Josh's face grew a deep shade of red.

His hands grew clammy and he looked between the two women nervously.

"Just use protection." Katy warned Josh, and he nodded silently.

"Now as you know Maya is a virgin-"

"This is getting awkward for me." He shouted, and laughed nervously to try and avoid the situation.

"I just wanted you to be gentle." Katy continued. Josh looked panicked and winced.

"Honestly Katy, we are no where near there." He assured her, and grabbed his coat. Katy and his Mother laughed and sighed with relief as Josh began to rant about how their relationship wasn't that far.

"Shawn would've murdered you." Katy laughed, but Josh didn't find it quite as amusing.
