"So, I heard you and Josh have been getting quite close." She heard Shawn say, sitting next to her at Topanga's.
"Yeah, he's been a really great friend." Maya responded, smiling to herself at the thought of him.
"That's it?" Shawn asked, getting a little overprotective.
Maya laughed and nodded. "That's how he looks at me." Shawn snorted and smirked knowingly.
"How do you see him?"Maya's words got caught in her throat and she ended up choking out something that sounded like a dying frog.
"Shawn, don't torture the poor girl." Maya's Mother called out from the counter.
"Don't worry Katy, just bonding with my little girl." Shawn assured her, leaving a questionable Katy amused.
"Josh is one of the best things that ever happened to me." Maya breathed out.
Shawn smiled and patted her shoulder.
"I'm glad you feel that way, because he's one of the few people I trust." Shawn told her.
"Me too." Maya agreed, a light pink forming across her cheeks.
"Well, just be careful because those nineteen year old boys have twisted minds." Shawn warned her.
Maya laughed at Shawn until she realized he wasn't joking.
"Josh isn't like that!" Maya told him, smacking his arm.
"Maya, he's nineteen, he at least thinks about weird and sick things."
Maya's face grew a deep shade of red, as she suddenly felt self conscious about what he could've been thinking about.
"I know that when I was nineteen, the only thing in my mind was getting-"
"Shawn!" Katy yelled, shutting him up.
Shawn smiled sheepishly and patted Maya's head. "Never mind, just be careful."
Maya rolled her eyes in annoyance.
Shawn stood up suddenly and walked towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Maya asked.
"To talk to Josh."
