"Josh, I know that you care about Maya, but there are some things you need to understand." Josh looked up at his brother who had a concerned look on his face.

Josh was currently sitting on the couch at Cory's house, originally there to pick up some boxes for NYU.

"Cory, you know that I'd never hurt her." He told him, feeling slightly offended at the remark.

"I know, because she's practically family, but do you love her Josh?" Cory asked, earning him a look from Josh that appeared confused and lost.

"She's practically fifteen Cory, three years younger than me!" He said, as an attempt to avoid the question.

Cory shook his head in disappointment.

"That's not what I asked."

Josh sighed and rubbed the back of his neck.

"I love the way she grins at me when she's happy, and how she always feels like she can talk to me, and the way her nose scrunches up when she's mad, but laughing at the same time." Josh admitted, avoiding his older brother's smile.

There was more, but Josh stopped talking just to avoid embarrassing himself by ranting about a fifteen-year old girl.

"I know it definitely means that I like her, but it's as close as I'm gonna get."

Cory sat down next to Josh and patted his back gently. "It's too late, you already do."

Josh sat there frozen. Many signs had pointed to this conclusion, but to hear it said was something else entirely.

So he rushed out of the Cory's home and briskly walked out onto the streets of New York, still not admitting the obvious.

He loved her, but it'd be awhile before he really knew.
