"Hey! What are you two up to?" I asked as I approached Amy and Larry.
"Eww! Hey! Look at you! I bet that was fun and cold as hell." Amy stated looking me over wet and covered in mud.
"Yeah. It was but worth it." I glanced around quickly before returning back to the two. "Where did Joslyn go?"
"Oh uh she said she was going to meet you back at your place. She had something to do?"
"Really?" I asked taken aback. "How long ago was that?"
Larry glanced down at his watch before he looked back up "A little over an hour ago. Actually pushing closer to two."
"Fuck!" I exclaimed.
"What?" They asked in unison.
"She doesn't have a key to get in! What was she thinking?" I ran my hands through my hair in frustration.
"I'm sure she's fine David. She may not realized until after she left. Knowing her she's back at our hotel laughing at herself. Chill out."
"Ok well I'm going to go catch up with her. I'll see you two later."
I kept my head low and walked at a fast pace to get to my car as quickly as I possibly could avoiding photo opportunities. As terrible as it sounded I honestly wanted to be with Joss more.
I threw my hoodie in my seat to help with some of the mud from making such a mess, quickly started her up and sped away.~~~~~~~~
A little over thirty minutes later I pulled over as soon as I saw her. I couldn't help the smile that broke out over my face seeing her there sitting on my front steps shopping bags in tow."Hey there. What are you doing?" I stood looking down at her with her head resting on her arms.
She slowly lifted her head and looked up at me. Her eyes were a little red and puffy as if she had been crying.
"Hey." She said quietly as she rubbed her eyes. "Sorry. My allergies are killing me."
Mmhmm she lied."Yeah. The weather is changing." I went along with her. "Been here long"?
"Ha. Yeah. Just a little. I wasn't thinking earlier when I left to come here."
"What's in the bags?"
She sighed heavily looking around herself and shrugged."I kinda had this idea that I would pick up stuff and fix you a typical southern dinner. Kind of a little piece of me ya know? But I wasn't thinking and I sat out here all this time and now I'm pretty sure most of its ruined."
My heart warmed at her confession. She was going to cook for me?"Oh baby. Come here." I sat down next to her and pulled her into me letting her rest her head on my chest.
"That is the most thoughtful thing anyone has anyone done for me.""You mean was going to do?" She gave a small laugh.
"It's the thought that counts right?"
"I guess."
"So...what is all in the bags?"
She sat up taking the warmth of her body from mine leaving me feeling cold."Well I was going to fry up the best fried chicken you ever had along with some potatoes and then some homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream"
