"Hey! Welcome home! I was beginning to wonder if I would ever see you again." Amy greeted me as I came through the door. "How was your flight?"
"Long but ok I guess."
"Well that's good. You look exhausted."
"I am thanks" I laughed as I plopped myself down on our comfy blue couch watching her move about in the kitchen. "What are you doing?"
"Oh I'm trying to get my things together. I have a work thing in a little while."
"Oh ok."
"It shouldn't take too long. How about girls night in? We have a shit ton to catch up on."
"Sounds perfect. In the mean time I'm going to catch up on some sleep. Wake me when you get in."
"Ok see you later!" And she was out of the door in a flash.
There I laid with nothing but the silence to greet me. The sun was beginning to set leaving the room in its golden hue. Checking the time on my phone it was nearly eight which mean it was pushing 1am in London. Too late to call or text him.
David....I sighed just thinking about him. How would this work honestly? I loved him. I loved being with him but how would the distance and our work effect us? I had to think positive. He did mentioned me moving there....could I really do that? I wouldn't have anyone there. And what about working part time and traveling some with him? I traveled with him before and I honestly wasn't a big fan. Yeah it was fun but not having a stable home....not my thing.
Ugh!! I needed to shut my mind off of it all.
I peeled myself from the couch and trudged my way into the kitchen to grab a beer before making my way down the hall for a bath.
I turned the hot water on, poured in some bubbles, and lit some candles.
Now this was going to be heaven. Grabbing my beer, I turned on some tunes then slipped into the tub. I couldn't help but laugh as the bubbles filled the tub completely bringing the memory back of using davids shampoo which honestly didn't work all that well but I did smell like him so it all worked out.
I had just began to doze off when my text alert went off.'Did you're flight go well? I hope you made it home safely. I have been thinking of you.'
It was David!! What was he doing up so late?!?
'Hey! It went well thank you. Just dozing off in the bath. What are you doing up so late?'
'I can't sleep. My bed is empty and smells of you'
Awwwww how sweet is he?!?
'I miss you too. But I'm sure you have a busy schedule. You need to sleep.'
'I had to know you were home safe. I would sleep much better if you were here.'
'I know. Hopefully soon we can work something out.'
'Not soon enough.'
'I'll miss you. Get some sleep Mr. Gandy.'
'Fine. I miss you. Goodnight.'
I can't believe he stayed up just to know if I made it home okay.
Several minutes and a pruned body later I got myself out from the tub, dressed myself in some sweats and headed to my second favorite place in the house, the comfy blue couch. Turning on the tv I made myself comfortable waiting for Amy to get back home. I must have dozed off again because I woke to her setting take out on our makeshift trunk turned coffee table."Hey! Get up! I brought food!"
"It smells delicious. Thanks."
She piled herself next to me before diving right in."So....you and gandy? How did it go?"
I swallowed slowly deciding how exactly I wanted to answer her."It went well. We sort of worked things out and are going to try for a relationship."
