A date....she said. Joslyn had a date. Question was...how? I mean not like she couldn't get one because I know damn well she could...but how as in she is in London! I did not know she knew anyone here. Not that she needed to know someone to go on a date with but shit!! I can't just sit here. I'm driving myself crazy thinking about it.
"Will you excuse me honey? I need to make a quick call to check on a couple things before it slips my mind again." I glanced up over to Mollie from across the table who honestly seemed so engrossed with whatever she was doing on her phone to even notice I had said anything.
"Sure baby."I stood from our table excusing myself making my way out to the front of the restaurant. The chill in the air slapped me in my face trying to push me back into reality but it was too little too late. I was already dialing his number.
"David! To what do I owe the pleasure? I heard the shoot went fabulous!"
"Yes. Yes it did. You were right about Joslyn. She was very qualified for the job." I said choosing my words carefully listening as he chuckled.
"I knew she would do just fine. Listen, I don't mean to rush you but I'm in the middle of something. Is that all you needed to tell me I was right? Or was there something else?"
"Of course. I apologize. Do you know of Joslyn's hotel accommodations? She left a few things at the shoot today and I thought I would return them to her before she leaves."
He was quiet for a moment testing my reasoning before he finally responded.
"Yes. Of course. Give me a moment and I'll send it right over to you ok?"
"Ok thank you Larry."
"No problem."
Taking a deep breath then sighing loudly I felt the nervousness building in my gut. It made me anxious and I couldn't get through dinner fast enough.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once back from the photo shoot and the piercing blue eyes of Mr. Gandy, I could finally relax a little. I sat next to the window over looking the harbor while eating a small dinner thinking back over the day. It honestly couldn't have gone any better, well with the exception of Mollie that is, but other than her I was pleased. But then there was David asking me out for coffee....and when he stood between my legs at the shoot.... 'What in the hell was that?' And the fact that I told him I had a date! Really? How embarrassing! I bet he knew better than that. Thankfully I wouldn't have to see him again so it's not like it mattered.
Starting to feel a bit restless I needed to find something to do to keep my mind from wondering. I didn't feel like going out on the town of London alone at night especially....thankfully the hotel had an indoor pool and gym I could use to stay busy. I quickly padded over my oversized room to the even more oversized bathroom to change my clothes. Quickly I laced up my shoes and tied my hair up in a messy bun before heading out the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After dinner I excused myself away from Mollie and her plans to "tie up a few loose ends" for work. Yes it was unlike me to lie but there was this pull that I could not escape from. I HAD to see her.
I pulled up to my destination of the Chelsea Harbour Hotel and smiled to myself at how of course Larry would put her up in only the best spot on London.
I made my way through the lobby and had to admire the sleek contemporary work it had with the rich brown and tan tiled floors and oversized leather furniture.
Over at the check in counter I was greeted by the surprise looked receptionist.
"May I uh.... How may I assist you Mr. Gandy?" The everyday blonde stammered.
"Yes. Hi. I am looking for the room number for a Joslyn....." Fuck! I didn't even know her last name!"Joslyn?" She repeated.
"Yes. Here's the thing... She was my stylist on set today left several of her belongings that I am needing to return to her. I don't know her last name because she is filling in for my usual stylist Larry."
The partial lie slipped right out with ease as I put on my panty dropper smile as they called it praying like hell it helped me out when I needed it.
"Oh my. Sounds like quite the situation Mr. Gandy. I honestly wish there was something I could do but without a last name I'm sorry there is nothing I can do."
"Of course. Thank you for your time."
Fuck! I cursed to myself. I looked around the lobby and opted to go for a drink at the bar.
Sitting on the stool I pulled my phone out of my pocket once again debating on calling Larry or not. I knew he was my only option to her last name and ultimately her room. I tossed back my scotch and said fuck it and pushed dial on the screen. Three agonizing rings later...he answered.
