I sat at the bar keeping a close eye on Joslyn through the last hour and a half. She was acting a damn fool but Amy kept telling me to just "wait it out" whatever that meant. I was honestly fed up with the situation all together and ready to throw her over my shoulders and drag her out of there. However I knew it would cause a scene and possibly a fight. I couldn't be associated with that right now with my already questionable no show appearances for work. So here I sat just waiting...that is until her big mountain man friend came taking the stool next to me.

"Hey man. You're still here?" He slurred head tilted back to see me through his hooded, blood shot eyes.

"Yes."

"What are you waiting for?"

"Joslyn."  I stated simply.

This caused him to laugh.

"What's so funny?"

"Man you have no clue. That girl will close the joint down. You still have awhile." He glanced at the clock that read 2:30 am. "Oh yeah man....you still have a good couple hours.

"Thanks for letting me know...if you don't mind me asking...are you an ex of hers or...?"

He laughed again. A deep, heavy, belly laugh that I was sure brought tears to his eyes.

"No man. Joss is my cousin. Our moms are sisters."

Relief washed over me that she didn't have a history with this overly bearded, tattoo covered mountain man.

"Oh. Well it's nice to meet you. I'm David."

"I know who you are man. Your the guy in the pictures with the blonde on vacation while Joss was at home sick."

"I promise you that was not what it looked like. Yes, Molly is my ex but I left her for Joss. Those pictures were a set up."

He seemed to ponder what I said for a moment or two before he held his hand out.

"I've been fucked over by a bitch or two before. It sucks. I honestly don't think you would be sitting here if otherwise. So we're good. Name's Will."

"Nice to meet you" I replied shaking his hand. "So...how do I handle this situation exactly?"

"Honestly man, you're just going to have to go get her and drag her out of here. She won't leave here anytime soon. Just...take it easy on her ya hear me? It's been a hell of a few weeks. I haven't helped the situation either not being the best of influence."

"What happened?"

He took a swig of his beer then shook his head slowly no.

"Not my place man. She's broken right now but have faith she can get back to her. She's done it once hopefully this time it won't take rehab to get back."

"Rehab??" I was taken back by his confession. I knew she had mentioned having trouble with alcohol before hand but never realized it was that bad.

"Do you even know that girl?!?"

"I'm trying to. She's been so guarded. I know bits and pieces. I'd give anything for her to just let me in and be a part of her life. But she doesn't want that."

"So she says....keep trying. You'll get there eventually."

"You think?"

"Yeah." He patted me on the back as he stood. "She's not as cold as she lets on. She has a big heart. Just give her time and have patience."

"Thank you."

"No problem. Now...go get your girl. Enough of this girly talk."

"You're right. Thanks for the insight."
