I saw him staring at her just as I do every day of the week. He has beautiful luscious long blonde hair and baby blue eyes. I despise him for his beauty and every day as he tried to win over my best friend, I tried to outdo him. I sit next to her at lunch and I see him walk in the door of the cafeteria. Behind him comes the band nerds, all with their instruments poised and in position. He smiles his devilishly handsome grin as he walks to our table. Mia is already looking at him with a sorrow filled face while she shakes her head. Then the band starts to play Mia's favorite song, Scars to her beautiful by Alessia Cara.

"What do you think your doing?" I yell at him.

"I am outdoing you!" He says and turns to Mia.

Then he snaps his fingers and the band starts to play while he sings. Curse his wits and good looks! I look over to Mia and see tears running down her face, but not happy tears, sad ones.

"Stop!" She yells, but he keeps singing and the band goes on, "STOP!"

That's when the band stops, well all except for percussion because they never listen. The guy stares at Mia in shock. I grin.

"Look what you did to her!" I say and sit down next to Mia.

I wrap my hands around her and embrace her into a tight hug.

"What's wrong?" The guy asks as he comes closer, step by step.

She looks up at him, frowning.

"I can't be with you Mark," She says softly.

I get on my feet and start to do a victory dance.

"I outdid you! I outdid you! Who out did you?! I outdid you!" I say and point my finger at him and his handsomely confused face.

Mia gets to her feet and yells at the top of her lungs, "Not you either Peter! I am asexual alright! I want none of you! I just did this so you guys would realize your stupid feeling for each other!"

Then she storms out of the cafeteria. I stare at Mark as he stares back at me. Both of dazed and confused.

"Where we really just trying to impress each other?" I ask solely.

He grins.

"I think we did"
