There once was maiden, fair of heart and face, that lived in the beautiful land of Melodia. She was always in her tower, singing, reading books, most things typical princesses do. The king and queen never said anything about her, never talked or spoke of her. It was as if the princess didn't exist in their eyes. Everyone knew she was real, for she sang melodies while perched on the edge of her windowsill, overlooking the city. A young man was convinced she was trapped there by her parents, so he set off on a quest to free the fair maiden from her tower.
"But brother, I cannot let you go!" The man's sister cried out as the man prepared to leave.
"And why is that Sylvia? I must save her, she's trapped up there by herself! She's all alone, and I am determined to save her!" He said, chest puffing out pridefully.
Sylvia grabbed her brother's hand, "Please, you know the king and queen are powerful, they'll send you to the dungeon if you are caught!"
The man smiled, "Good thing I won't get caught,"
With his travel bag tied around his waist, chest filled with pride, he walked out of the cottage. He got onto his faithful horse, Gullfaxi, and rode off towards the castle. The town they lived in was always a bit strange, potion vendors on every street corner, witches living in peaceful harmony with humans. All of this plus the mysterious maiden in the tower made it a humongous tourist attraction. Tourist's crowded the streets, watching witches make elixirs and concoctions in there massive boiling cauldrons. Everyone rode horses in this town, not a car in sight, only because it was illegal to own a car in these regions. The king and queen passed that law twenty years ago because they wanted to make sure no one had the ability to have an amazing and comfortable ride but them. The majesty's where selfish, but at least they kept everything running smoothly in Melodia.
As the man rode through the streets of Melodia many took pictures of him. The man thought it was just the silly tourists doing what they did best, taking pictures of random people in random places doing random things. He had no idea that one of these tourist was a spy for the king. The spy quickly a photo and put it up on Instagram, tagging the king and queen, with the hashtag #he'scomingforyou. The majesty responded quickly, angry face emoji #stophim. The spy got up, grabbed a potion from inside his satchel, chugged it down quickly, and ran off after the man on the horse.
With the potion, he could match the stride of the horse almost perfectly. The horse's mane was golden and thick, while the man was dressed in the darkest clothing he could find. He tried to grab the horses legs to make it trip, or pull off the saddle, but a thick protection spell was placed upon the two.
The spy took out his wand and yelled, his voice dripping with magic, "Absit omens!"
Suddenly the horse began to slow, most likely because he also put a speed charm on his horse to make him go faster. With the spell gone the spy knew he could easily stop the horse. He was arrogant enough to wait until they got to the gates of the castle even try to stop the man. The spy's potion was almost done with by then, and as each second went by he became slower and slower. He started to lag behind the horse as they ran through the entrance to the grand castle.
The spy held his wand tightly, pointing it at the steed, "Stet vera causa!"
The horse stopped running instantly, coming to a standstill. The man looked back at the spy, frightened, and jumped off his horse. He pulled an elixir from his bag and drank it quickly, then sped away. The spy rummaged through his bag of elixirs, trying to find one that would make him catch up to the man. The man made a dash for the front doors into the castle, where two guards stood. He didn't even stop to fight the guards, with all of his strength he dashed right through the wooden door. He yelped and hollered with glee upon gaining entrance to the castle. Then he realized he was surrounded.
