For awhile they could pretend that humanity was not collapsing. They could pretend that this water was there only source. We had no idea if other people survived the mutations. They lived in a camp east of where there old town was. They knew that humanity would fall so they ran away. They only knew because they caused the mutations. It was all an accident! That's what she would say to herself day and night. She couldn't believe she left the door unlocked at the facility and now, she and her best friend lived in a bomb shelter that was made many years ago. Before this all happened, she barely knew Fain but now he knew him very well. When she first heard about the mutations escaping she made a run for it will all her stuff. Her next door neighbor, Fain, came running after her, yelling at her to stop running. In the days after she found him and told him about the delmia, he insisted on coming with. Together they made it here and that's how they survived. The mutations, all they wanted was radiation and for people to be like them, we weren't planning on this. Then they got to the control center of the nuclear missiles and started to launch them, or that what she thought had happened, she had no idea because they were in the bunker by then. After they stopped launching, they went out in search of food and water, this stream was the only one they could find. They knew their chances of becoming a mutant themselves was very high because they drank the radioactive water, but they tried their best to not get poisoned  by the water. They filter the water at the bunker and then drink it. For food, they have the huge stash the bunker supplied, but that number of food was dwindling.  They had to find others and soon.
