Mia’s POV
I wake up to find that I have Harry’s arm around me and I must have snuggled into him in the night. I must have fallen asleep first since I would never have let him do that had I been awake especially since Niall’s right on the other side of me. I try to move away but find that I’m in a position that I can’t get out of. I’m going to have to wait for Harry to wake up before moving but it feels wrong in a way since I’m not snuggled into Niall’s familiar scent.
Unfortunately for me, Harry’s a heavy sleeper and doesn’t like waking up in the morning, and so it doesn’t look like I planned this, I decide that it would look better if I wake up after him so I close my eyes and try to fall asleep again, but I just can’t so I stay there with my eyes closed and my head resting on Harry’s shoulder.
“Morning.” I hear Jade whisper and it only becomes clear who she’s speaking to when I hear Liam’s voice say good morning back. I stay silent as I hear Liam wake Niall up. I hear whispering but I can’t make out what’s being said but then it suddenly stops as I hear movement coming from somewhere to my right. It isn’t long until I can hear a lot of movement around me signalling that the majority of people are awake, but none of them are Harry and I’m still stuck. Were they just going to stand there watching us or were they going to wake us up?
“GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Comes the unmistakeable voice of Louis as it rings in my ear and I jump at the sudden noise but Harry just groans and wraps his arms around me tighter, resting his head on me but everyone can see that I’m awake now, I think I hear someone else grumble about being woken up but since I have my head between Harry’s shoulder and now his head, I can’t see very much or hear very much. I decide that the best chance that I have of getting out of Harry’s grip is to ask him to let go.
“Harry…” I say quietly. “…It’s time to get up.” I whisper into his ear. I feel his head lift off mine as he turns his face to face me and his emerald green eyes flicker open and meet mine for a few seconds before he gently lifts his arm from around my shoulders allowing me to sit up but I know that I’m blushing.
Niall’s POV
I stare at Harry with his arm around my girl and the way that only her whispering in his ear wakes him up. Mia’s blushing slightly and I can hear sniggering behind me. She looks up and catches my eye, she gives me an apologetic look but it’s gone in a second since everyone’s attention seems to be on her and Harry. I look at Harry to see him smiling at her and I can’t take it any longer, I have to get out of here. I leave the room and go straight out in the garden and sit down heavily on one of the sun loungers, moments later I hear someone approach and I know that it isn’t Mia, the footfall’s too heavy.
“Hey are you ok?” Liam says as he sits down next to me.
“I can’t take it anymore! I hate watching Harry flirt with her all the time and…and I just can’t, why can’t he be interested in one of the others?” I say trying desperately to hold back the tears that are fighting to escape.
“I can’t imagine what it’s like but I don’t think that Harry would be flirting with her if he knew about the two of you and maybe you two could act a little less distant.” Liam advises me.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, the way that you act in front of everyone makes it look like you don’t really like each other, you hardly ever talk the only clue to the way that you two really feel is the way that you always seem to be staring at each other when you think that no one’s looking, you do know that it’s ok to hug friends right?” He says and as his words sink in, I realise that he’s right, with us trying not to show that we’re in fact a couple we’ve made us look like we don’t really like each other.
