“Nooo.” I groan as I swat at my alarm clock. I got about four hours sleep last night. The boys had Skyped me at about 11pm and we had talked until about 3am. The time zones aren’t even that different, they’re an hour ahead but since they had been busy throughout the day that thought that Skypeing me and Georgia on separate machines at the same time was a good idea, which it was but not all night! For the past week we’ve spoken on Skype every day and it has been great to talk to them but I can’t help but wish that at times it could just be Niall and I.

I drag myself out of bed knowing that my mum will soon be shouting up the stairs so that I won’t be late to school. I do my usual routine without even thinking I’ve done so many times that I don’t have to.

“Mia! Hurry up or you’re going to be late! And Linda is giving you a lift today so you don’t want to keep her waiting!” I roll my eyes as I put some earrings in and double check my makeup before going downstairs and pouring out some cheerios. Yes we’re back to cheerios since I’m back at school. “Why do you look so tired? You had better not have been up all night talking to those boys.” My mum warns me but I know that she isn’t serious because she’s smiling. I roll my eyes at her for the second time this morning and finish off my cereal just before there’s a honking sound from outside.

“I’m off now then mum, see you when I get back.”

“Ok honey, have a good day and try not to fall asleep in lessons!” She calls as I grab my school bag and run out of the door and down to the awaiting car.

“Hey.” I greet Georgia who must have been up longer than me last night because she looks awful even with all of the makeup that she’s put on to try to cover it up. “Thanks for giving me a lift Linda.” I say to Georgia’s mum as she drives off in the direction of our school.

“It’s no problem Mia, you’re on our way and besides you put up with her for two weeks so think if it as a thank you.” She says and I laugh awkwardly because I can’t tell if she’s kidding or not. I look at Georgia and I think I can see hurt in her features but she turns away from me. The drive to school’s short and we soon pull up outside.

“Thanks again.” I call as I step out of the car and onto the pavement next to Georgia who’s still trying to wake-up.

“Bye.” Linda calls through the now open window as she drives away. We turn to the direction of school and walk up to the door entering the code before pushing the door open. The school corridor’s busy as we make our way to our locker area and grab the books that we’ll need today. I only have drama this morning and then ‘study periods’ for the rest of the day. Great, let’s hope that I can stay awake enough to actually do my homework from the previous two days. What a joy.

“Hey guys.” I call as we approach Jade, Charlie and Halli.

“Hey, please tell me you guys were just really bad at doing your makeup this morning.” Charlie says and I roll my eyes at her.

“If only that were the case. But unfortunately it’s not the case, we were kept up last night talking to 5 certain boys who are in Spain.” I reply and Halli and Jade both find this absolutely hilarious.

“It’s not funny! We need to sleep and I have to stay awake for most of the day attempting to do homework in a load of frees.” I huff.

“Good luck with that, you can barely stay awake in those when you’ve had enough sleep let alone when you’ve had like none.” Halli says and I stick my tongue out at her childishly.

“G? G wake up.” Jade says as she shakes Georgia by the shoulders. She’s nearly falling asleep with her head resting on my shoulder.

“Go away, I want to sleep.” She moans and we all laugh as she puts her hands over her ears to try to block out the noise in our form room. I glance at the clock and see that it’s now 8.30 and that registration would be soon so that we could have assembly where we all try to make each other laugh without getting told off.
