Mia’s POV

As suspected we get to the airport much too soon. The waiting’s becoming more and more unbearable as I sit next to Georgia and my mother in a waiting area. I my elbow is resting on my knee supporting my head, my legs are crossed and I’m absentmindedly bouncing my foot up and down causing my whole body to move. I glance up at the clock on the wall and see that there is still half an hour to go.

“Why is time moving so slowly?!” Georgia complains and I nod my head in agreement. “I want them to be here now!” She says impatience clear in her voice.

“I know, me too.” I say as I lift my head off my hand and allow my arm to drop down.

“Only half an hour girls that’s not that long.” My mum says and I glare at her. “Now don’t look at me like that, you should have brought something to do.” She says and I roll my eyes at her, I notice that Georgia does the same and can’t help a small smile. I pull out my phone and begin to play Tetris, I hate the game but can never seem to stop playing.

The next half hour crawls by and I swear at one point I fell asleep, but finally the time comes for when their flight is due and Georgia and I squeal excitedly as we stand up and move out into the rest of the airport to wait in the same place that we had left them nearly a week ago.

“I’m sorry but flight 26 from Spain has been delayed by 15 minutes, sorry for any inconveniences…”

The voice on the intercom says and I swear I could slap them. They were now talking about getting some refreshments blah blah blah, just shut up will you no one actually cares! I feel like shouting this but that would look really odd in the middle of an airport or anywhere for that matter. See this is what happens when I don’t get enough sleep but if I say anything to my mum she will just tell me that it’s my own fault for staying up. I can see that Georgia is getting annoyed too by this point and I take a deep breath to calm myself down before I explode in front of all these people since the airport is quite crowded.

“I’m so bored!” I complain after about five minutes of silence.

“Me too.” Georgia agrees and my mum sighs at us but says nothing as she continues to re-read the magazine that she had brought with her which she must have read about 100 times by now. We spend the last ten minutes in silence. This is the most boring thing that I have ever had to do, even maths is better than this, seriously, I would rather be doing algebra right now but no, I am standing in an airport doing nothing, and my feet are already beginning to hurt, maybe heels wasn’t such a good idea.

Eventually I get bored of looking through the crowd for their familiar faces and turn around to look out of the glass doors. I look at nothing in particular allowing my gaze to fall where it wants and think of nothing in particular and surprisingly the time passes faster.

“Louis!!!” I hear Georgia yell from next to me and I turn to see her run off and into his arms, the now familiar pang of jealousy stabs at my heart as I once again wish that it’s that easy for Niall and I. Unlike Georgia I wait for the guys to reach us before hugging them.

“Happy Birthday.” I call to Niall with a grin as the boys approach. This time I hug Niall first and again for a little longer than usual.

“I missed you.” I whisper so that only he can hear.

“I missed you too.” He says giving me a slight squeeze before releasing me, my whole body aches to be held and kissed by him but I know that that will have to wait. I then hug the others as they smile at me and Liam gives me a knowing smirk as I move to stand next to Niall as the guys take hold of their luggage in preparation for leaving through the glass doors.
