Chapter 19:

"You don't deserve him."

"You don't deserve him."

The sound of her voice pierced the musky air repeatedly like a broken record, stealing away his hand and the pocket size circle of gem from me. The gateway of unknown was fading away before my own eyes...

"Please don't let go..." the girl begged at a pair of mahogany orbs blurring away along with everything else, The girl in white cried alone.

My eyes sealed open, my whole body shaking, gasping for breath.

........................................

10 hours had passed and her words still echoed inside me, haunting me every second of the day, making me feel like, I just don't belong to this world. My phone twiddled around my fingers, swirling in loops, my nerves getting the better of me yet again. A part of me believed I was the one, the other half taunted me otherwise. Only the three wise words of my promise and my own heart kept me going or else I don't know how I could have the nerve to go against her. That's it, I had had enough. I have to talk about this to Zayn and remove the weed of fear in me.

"Tell Mum I am going down Jade's." I told Jonnie before heading out the door to the bus stop leading to Zayn's house. I rang the doorbell of his bleached bungalow, anxious to get in. No response. Every time I rang him up, his number was either unavailable or kept going on voice mail. I decided it was best if I patiently waited, hopefully Zayn was inside somewhere.

"Who's there?" a familiar sound yelled from inside the black Bentley.

"Zayn! It's me!" I shouted back running up to the tall dark figure which was tumbling and trembling as he tried walking towards the main door, I put his hands around my neck, trying to support his body as much as I could. Zayn was muttering random things as I literally dragged him to the main door. He was drunk alright.

"Zayn where's the key?"

"In my pocket and under -

"Under the mat..." Oh how original. We managed to reach the kitchen with great difficulty and sat down on the bar stools. Shortly after, Zayn got up to get a bottle out of the liqueur cabinet. Great! I couldn't talk to him properly and I really needed to get her out of my mind.

"Why - are you here?"

"I had to tell you something but forget it now."

"No tell me now." he said, gulping down a large amount of the alcohol.

"No Zayn, you're clearly not in your right -

He banged the bottle against the hard surface and seized my hand to bring me nearer.

"Tell me!" he demanded, clutching my hands painfully.

"Zayn, you're hurting me." I winced.

"I said tell me!" he was losing his patience.

"Yesterday... your mum... she left me a note."

"And...?"

"It said I don't deserve you."

"How do you know it's her?"

"Because Zayn, she hates me! I know it. I am scared of her Zayn, she won't let us be -

His grip tightened, adding immense pressure on my left hand and his other hand dug into the back of my loose hair, tilting it harshly backwards so that his face remained higher than mines. My free hand tried pulling his hand out unsuccessfully.

"Zayn! It hurts, stop it!" I screeched.

"What did you say about my mum!?"

"Nothing, I was just -

He tugged harder.

"Zayn please!" I cried.

He finally let go, sinking deep into the stool and drinking extra large mouthful of the damn drink, slamming the bottle on the counter full of fierce rage after. I screamed with horror and unbearable pain as a big broken piece of glass had clung to my forth finger. I watched thick drops of blood ooze out, sprinkling the pale tiled floor with deep red dots. My body collapsed on the floor, unable to handle the sharp piercing deep inside my skin. Zayn was by my side instantly.

"I am so sorry!" he said, tears rolling down his eyes when he saw the deep cut on my left hand with shock. He closed my eyes and held my right hand firmly, taking out the glass before I had the time to react. I screamed stronger as the void wound burned violently, tears sprained my face and my whole body was whimpering wildly. Zayn quickly tore some of his shirt in panic and wrapped it gently on the bleeding wound.

"I'm very sorry Perrie." Zayn sobbed, kissing me frequently afterwards. I knew now to never mention or speak against her for he loved her incredibly and I didn't want to nor did I have the right to ruin their relationship...
