Chapter 24:

I could barely walk to my door. Every passing second, I feared the worst, every time the police siren could be heard, I thought it was coming for me, every moment had me caught in my own web, knowing it will only be a matter of time when -

"Perrie!" my mum shrilled but all I could hear was her cry. She had cried, the woman Zayn loved so much had cried because of me and I know she will take away my breath that resided in him. I couldn't bear the thought of losing him. I couldn't bear it... Zayn had not said a word after she had left or during the ride home, the one person who could take away the pain was choosing not to. Probably punishing me for being the seed to his problems. Ever since Zayn had lashed out in anger, I had promised myself to never create a rift between the mother and her son but I failed myself and him...

"Perrie come inside dear. It's freezing cold out there."

I walked on, unaware of my surroundings, just carrying on.

"Perrie what's happened to you? Why are you behaving like that?" 

"Nothing mum." 

I went upstairs to my bedroom which I now shared with Selena. I was hoping she would not be there but she was and for the first time, I saw a look of concern in her eyes.

"Perrie? Where were you last night?"

"Jade's."

"Don't lie Perrie. I know you weren't there, Jade had called up here asking for you."

"What?"

"Thank your lucky stars that it was me who picked up the phone and not anyone else."

"You didn't tell anyone?"

"No. You texted remember. I thought you must be fine."

I sighed with relief. "Thank you so much!"

"You owe me an explanation."

"Please can you let me keep this private." I pleaded.

"No. I have to know what you were up to, what if you are doing drugs or something? I don't want to cover that up."

"I can assure you I am not doing drugs."

"Then?"

"Please Selena."

"You had sex didn't you? But why are you afraid? It's not illegal."

"Selena please promise me -

"No. No promises. Just tell me did you or not?"

"Yes! I did okay."

"Fine. I won't tell anyone. You just had to tell me."

"Perrie!" 

I turned around to see my mum's anger filled face, glaring at me with full force. Did Tricia? No she wouldn't do this. I hoped.

"Perrie tell me the truth."

"What truth?" my heart started beating fast.

"What you just told Selena. Why did you lie?"

"Mum I..." I didn't know what or how to say it to her. What would she think of her daughter blatantly hiding one of the biggest truth of her life? I knew she would hate me too, she was still not over the fact my dad cheated on her and it had been 14 years. If she ever found out about this, I dread the worst. 

 "You can tell me Perrie." she said.

"Did he take advantage of you? Tell me Perrie!"

"Who are you talking about mum? Why are you saying that?"
