Chapter 23

After cleaning himself (and Luke's bathroom), Louis tried checking on Zayn again. The smell hit Louis like a train as soon as the brunette opened their bedroom door. He felt himself hardening again, so as soon as he saw Zayn sleeping peacefully, he immediately went out of the apartment, with his hood up. He asked Luke to be in charge first though since he's the one who Louis trusts the most.

"What's up?" Calum, who was smoking at the corner, greeted the cat hybrid as soon as he sat next to him, "Thought you'll be taking care of Zayn?"

"Luke's on it. I couldn't really handle the heat." Louis shrugged, "Can I?" he asked motioning for the box of cigs.

"Sure." Calum shrugged as he hand him a cig and a lighter, "Zayn really is releasing a strong scent, how have you been taking care of him all this time?"

"It only happened once before, it wasn't as strong as this one, or maybe because the pill is still effective." Louis answered after taking a hit.

"Oh, those pills, huh? Yeah, got bottles of those myself." Calum said after blowing a smoke.

"Hope you don't take those too much." Louis said.

"Nah, I put space in between, I take care of myself." Calum reassured.

"Where'd you get those though? I might need one soon." Louis asked.

"I'll give you a bottle tomorrow." Calum offered, "But let's hope you won't be needing it, you have Zayn." he winked.

It made Louis' stomach and heart flip at the thought, "That'll be awhile." he shrugged, "We're still stuck in this mess."

"We'll get out of it." Calum chuckled as he threw the used cig out, "I believe we will."

"I like the positivity." Louis smiled before taking another hit, "I can't wait for that day."

"I don't think any of us can. Everyone's been talking about it." Calum said.

"Yeah? Like what?" Louis asked curiously, though he felt a little pressured and nervous about how it'll suck so bad if they failed.

"Well, just random freedom stuff to be honest, being free to do whatever we want without being worried about you know... them..." Calum answered, "Get a decent job and try to build a stable life, we're sticking together though, right, Louis?"

Calum's eyes widened at how clingy that sounds, "Er, well... we don't really have anywhere to go to, and like you guys are cool."

Louis chuckled, "Well, families do stick together, right?"

Calum's ears perked in happiness, his tail wagging along, making Louis chuckle when Calum realized how overly excited he must've looked, "Er... dog instincts..." Calum scratch the back of his neck.

"Yeah, no worries." Louis just laughed.

The two then began talking about their dreams for the future, which led them back to solidifying their plans for when they'll attack his dad.

"How do you think they'll be able to sleep inside? Well Louis needs to for the night since Calum and us have a shift during the night." Ashton asked while making a sandwich.

"I'll probably give my room to Louis, and I have this old mattress, I can just place it on the floor in their bedroom so someone can watch over Zayn." Luke explained after taking down notes from a book he's reading.

"It's nice to see you taking care of them." Michael, who was drinking soda next to Luke, said.

"Well, Louis helped me and still is, so it's just right that I do the same for them." Luke shrugged, "And they're basically family now."
