Chapter 8: Fries

Fionna's POV

Wow..Although it was big it didn't look very harmful. Pfft..Boss.
I've bet hundreds-wait no..thousands? Meh Don't remember. Well I've bet heaps and they were far more ugly and than this.

Marshall and I hid behind the wall, waiting for the right time to go pick out the 'boss's' eyeballs out.

The big bub turned around, scanning the place to check if his prey (us) is somewhere close.
We watched its movements carefully and for some reason, my nose felt itchy and sniffy.
Oh glob..Not now!

Marshall looked at me and mouthed, 'get ready'.
Uh oh.. A flippin' fly came!! Ugh..
It annoyingly flew around me. Doing flips and acrobatic acts. Then it landed on my nose..in 3..2..1.. "ACHOOOO!!"

It echoed through the labyrinth.
"CHOO..CHOO..Choo"

"Lump" Marshall breathed.
"Sorry" I whispered.
The bub turned around to us and looked at Marshall then me then Marsh then me.
It stopped at me.
"Human" It breathed.
Ugh..sometimes I just hate being human..everyone keeps tryin to get/eat you.

I took out my sword and got in a stance. Marshall turned into a big demon.
The boss looked at Marshall and started going for him.

"MARSHALL!" I shouted.

Marshall kicked and tried to knock out the big dope. But it kept getting back up and it was like Marshall couldn't do anything how much he tried.

I slashed its legs with my sword. Even though it looked pretty harmless I guess it has some secret strength too.

It screamed as I kept slashing its calf and it let go of Marsh.
"STOP!!" It screamed.
"And why should I?" I shouted as I kept slashing.
"Because!!"
"IM HERE TO GIVE YOU YOUR REWARD!!"
I stopped. "What?"
"YOU'VE ALREADY BEATEN THE BOSS"

Ohhhhhh!! No wonder the last fight was so hard and this one looked so harmless. I facepalmed and laughed. "Sorry, dude! We didn't know"

I put my sword back an walked to Marsh. "Hey, It's okay! We already bet the boss" He got up and turned back to his normal form. "Oh."

He laughed and we walked to the dude who was healing itself.
"Sorry, man" I said .

"Do not worry! I'm sorry too!" He got up and walked to Marshall. "This vampire..is your friend?"
I nodded.
"I am sorry" He bowed.

Marshall laughed. "You should be!"
He puffed out his chest.
"Marshall!!" I shouted but tried to hold in my laugh.

"Haha! No biggeh! I'll let you go this time because I'm a very understanding person"

"By the way, I'm Marshall"
He smiled showing his fangs.

"Oh! I am Phil!"
Phil looked at me and said, "You are human, correct?"

"Yep! I'm Fionna, Fionna the human" I bowed.

Phil gave us a warm smile and gave both of us a mini chest.

I opened mine, excited to see what it could be.
A new sword!! I'VE BEEN WANTING A NEW ONE FOR SO LONG!! IT'S LIKE FIRST ON MY WISHLIST!

I took the sword out and hugged it.
"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!" I Said.

"HURRY UP, MARSHALL!! OPEN YOURS!!"

"In these boxes are what you've had wanted for so long! Please take care of them" Phil said with a smile.

"Marshall!! OPEN YOURS!!"
I urged.

Marshall's POV

I was worried what to see in mine.
I looked at the box. Just stared.
"What do I want?" I thought making me want to open it.

"COME ON, MARSHY!!" Fi kept yelling.

I sighed and opened the box.
...
"F-Fries?! A-And still hot!!" I said as I poked one.

Fi sniffed the air, drooling.
"Wow..Fries.." She said

I took one and took a bite.
Oh My Glob.. I FEEL LIKE IM TRAVELLING THROUGH SPACE AND IN A NEW WORLD!
Tears started to roll down my cheeks.
"Fries.."
I looked at Phil who was smiling.
"Ready to go home?" He asked.

Fi and I nodded. "Yes"
And we were sent back to where we found the labyrinth.

I stuffed another one in my mouth as Fi looked at me, tilting her head.
I looked at her then the fries.
I don't want to share it.. I pouted and took one out.

I showed her the fry and put it in front of her nose to smell and then near her mouth. She opened her mouth expecting me to put it in. I smirked and took it back and put it in my mouth.

She looked at me with a grumpy look and laughed.
*Chu!* I gave her a kiss.
"How's it taste?" I teased.

"M-M-MARSHALL!" She screamed blushing.

She hid her face in her fringe and looked away.

Wow..her lips..tasted good! AHH!!
I slapped myself metaphorically.
Am I going bonkers or what?! She's my best friend!!
I CANT THINK OF HER THAT WAY!!
I sighed.
Feeling my face heat up I turned away from Fi quickly and another fry.

"C-Come on, Fi. Lets get you home."
She turned around and nodded.
"Can't wait to fight with my new sword!"
I gave her a fry and she smiled and ate it.

She took the packet of fries to hold it for me as I picked her up, Piggyback style.

She stuffed a fry in my mouth.
I blushed at her action and smiled.
"Thanks" I said as I chewed.
"No problem, Marsh!" She smiled

By the time we got there she was already asleep on my back. Cake still wasn't home and so I flew to her window.
Beemo was there and so I tapped the glass with my finger.
*Tap Tap* Beemo opened the window.
"Hello!" Beemo said in a cheery voice.

"Shh" I said putting a finger in front of my mouth.

"Whoops! Beemo is sorry!"

I placed Fi in bed and tucked her in. Careful not to wake her up.
"Goodnight, Fionna!" Beemo said.
The little bot walked out of the room.

I run my hand through her hair. "EEEEEEE!!" I heard beemo.
I took my hand back. "W-What?!" I said finding Beemo peeking through the door.

"Beemo sorry!"
I gave the bot a poker face.

"Sorry! Beemo was fangirling! And Beemo can't take it!"
I gave a chuckle and kissed Fi on her forehead.
"EEEEEEEE" Beemo screamed again.
"Shh!"
I looked back at Fi who was still peacefully asleep. "Night, Fi"
