Chapter 31: Not Only A Vampire King

Fionna's POV

The huge toad let me sit on its shoulder as we made our way to a huge rocky palace. Nice place but I like my tree house better.

"Um...Dude? I think you got it wrong-" I got picked up and placed onto the tiled floor. The giant bowed then looked up, "Where have you been all this time, my queen? All we had left of you was that portrait!" The giant pointed at a portrait on the wall. I observed the figure in the painting. It was a toad (or frog) in a bunny hat. What. Do I really look like that? Oh well.

"My queen, the toad king is waiting." the toad said. "Look, I think you got the wrong person. I'm not the toad queen! We just somehow have the same hat." The giant just shook its head, smiling. "You are. The curse must have broke while you were away! Enough questions, the toad king is waiting." I sighed and just went along with it.

The giant toad knocked onto a big door. Why's everything so big?! "We're coming in, your highness." I entered and the toad just left me, shutting the door as it went. "Okaaay..." I said. I looked at the figure who was outside on the balcony. "Uh... Your highness, I'm afraid your subjects have made a mistake. I am not your long lost queen but I just happen to have the same hat she wears in the portrait." the king dude was still silent. His figure didn't look like a toad's. Actually, he looked more like a person. With arms, legs, a head, and a body.

I heard him chuckle. Okay, I know that chuckle. "Marshall?" I asked. The figure turned around and smiled, showing its fangs. "Sup, darlin'."

"What are you doing here? Since when are you- not only a vampire king but a toad king as well?" I asked yelling. "Fi, calm. I heard once that some toads lost their rulers, so I told them I was the king and that my curse broke to save my butt from being kicked by a giant toad."

I crossed my arms. What a liar. "What is the curse anyway?" I said. "Apparently, they believe in the whole 'Princess and the Frog' story. How a kiss from some royal turns a frog back to its normal form." I just nodded. "Anything else I need to know?" Marshall hummed as if thinking. "Oh, yeah! We're getting married in like an hour."

Say what?

"Married?!"
