Chapter 19: Matchmaker

Fionna's POV

I went to get a drink.

My hand clutching the left side of my chest. I couldn't think!! It was such a weird dream and the most bothering thing was that the cosmic owl was there! I refilled my glass with water and drank until I couldn't finish what was left.
That's another one in the vault and I definitely do not want to see what's going to happen next.
Sighing, I turned around to see PG with a book in his hand. "You're still awake?" He asked. I nodded. "What's that?" I asked, pointing to the dark green book.

"It's a book of fairy tales!" He sang as he walked towards me, opening the book to a page with a picture of a glass slipper.
The book was now on my face. I pulled the book away from my face and his hands. "What's it for?"
PG took the book of fairy tales back and smiled, "I wanted to read you a story until you fell asleep!" Giggling at his words, I nodded in defeat.

I pulled the blankets over me then started to get comfy. PG sat at the end of the bed.

"Once upon a time..."

" They lived happily ever after!"

I looked at Gumball with a blank expression. Where were the monsters and sword fights in that story? Why was if only fairies, a slipper and mice? Cinderella could've took out a sword to kill her step mother! Or one of her evil sisters!

"Did you like it? Feeling sleepy?" I shook my head, "Yeah, I guess and nope, not sleepy." A yawn came after that sentence and my eye lids started to feel heavy. "Maybe..."
I felt weight lifted off of the bed and then coming back but closer to me. I felt PG coming closer to my face!! "Wha-what are you doing?!"

Then I heard a hissing noise coming from out of the piles of books. "HSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!" Gumball backed away from me, startled.
We looked at the piles of books, their towers breaking as Marshall stood. "Thanks to you both, I woke up!!" He yelled. Marshall picked me up and hissed, "We're leaving. We'll help tomorrow."
"I just wanted to give her a goodnight kiss!!" Gumball argued.

I massaged my temples, this was a real pain. "PG, we're gonna come back tomorrow. Just rest for tonight, Kay?" I asked with a sweet tone. He then pouted and nodded.

Haha cute.

After that thought, Marshall then looked at me with eyes that should be feared. Taking me in his arms, we flew out of the Candy Kingdom and went back to my sweet treehouse. "Thanks" I said with not much enthusiast.
"Go to bed. Sleep. I'll look for the cure. Don't even try to go there."

I didn't really have the energy to argue so I just shrugged and nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say mum." I started to climb up the ladder.
"And don't you ever call him cute again."

I was sleeping peacefully.

Well, was.

Because Cake woke me up in the morning.
I climbed down to see Cake putting plates down on the table. "Morning! Today Lord taught me how to make the best omeh-let-tay!" (A/N omelette) "Sounds good, I guess..."
I sat down and Cake was staring at me with the 'Eat it' look. I stabbed a piece off with my fork then put it in my mouth. The omeh-let-tay exploded then melted right away, leaving the most delicious taste. "Cake."

Cake giggled. I guess I looked weird, huh? "Mmm...?" She asked. "IT'S SO GOOOOOOOOD!!!"
I stuffed more of the mouth-watering omeh-let-tay in my mouth when tears escaped my eyeballs. "ITS SO GOOD!" I cried out while chewing. "Babycakes!! How many times do I have to tell you to slow down?!" When she said that I started choking. "Wa-water!!" I coughed. Cake shook her head, "Now what did I just tell you?"

I seriously can't breathe now. My hands were on my throat. Coughing and gasping. I think this is the end of me.
Fionna the heroine died of choking on food.
"CA-AKE" I spat, my face getting hotter. "Oh! Water! Someone get her water! help!" She cried, panicking. "CA-A-KE!!!!" Cake got me a glass of water and I took it, gulping big amounts of water.

Marshall's POV

I was getting tired of this.

I can't find it anywhere! Maybe a cure doesn't even exist- no, no, get it together Marshall. We can't have Gumwad like that forever. My mind's aching. I don't usually read this much. I kicked the towers of books. Then a book glowed and levitated in the air.
Just kidding, it didn't really happen but I knew it was the book because it's title is, "Cures for Gumwads"
Just kidding, it just said, "Antidotes and Poisons"

I took the book and flipped through the pages. This is how it went:

Nah, nah, nah, ah-no, nahp, nope, uh-uh, nah, AH-HAH, no- why did I flip the page if I've already found it...

There it is! Same plant, same effects! I read the WHOLE text. I tore the page out of the book. Just kidding again, I didn't read it. Too much reading in one day.

"Fionna!!" I shouted, knocking on their door repeatedly. I heard footsteps coming closer and before I knew it, the door slammed open! Almost making me drop my umbrella. "Sheesh! I could've dropped this, ya know? I'd melt because of you!" I winked at the blonde chick. She just tilted her head. She didn't get it, "Whatever. Well, I found the cure!"

"Dude, really? No kidding! What is it?" Fi asked jumping up and down. "Well hurry up!!" She shouted. "Move."
She stopped jumping. "What?"
"I said, move. Shouldn't you let me in first? The sun's gonna burn me to crisps!" She went back in and I followed. I took out the page that I tore out and gave it to her. "Here. You read it. I've already read so much." She started to read.

"Um...Marshall?"
"What?" I asked. She looked at page and at me again. "What does app-rocks- I'm- ate-lie mean? (A/N Approximately) "Ughhh. Guess I'm gonna have to read it." I took the page from her and read.

The page escaped my hands as it gracefully hit the floor. My hands started to shake and I started to sweat. "What is it, Marshall? Did you find what ate-lie means? Is it bad?" I gulped.

"To cure Gumball, he has to kiss his worst and number one enemy.."
Fi nodded. "Well, that's easy then! All we need to do is find his enemy-"
I put my hands over her mouth.
"Fi, I'm the enemy."

"No, you can't be" Fi laughed. "You guys just 'dislike' each other. Not hate!" I paused then smiled. Yeah, she's right. I can't be the enemy. "And there are other cures too. I just didn't read them."
Fionna laughed. "Well, go on, man!"

"Gumball's gotta fall in love with another chick." Bunny puffed up her cheeks. "Well, that's impossible. He drank the stuff!" I re-read the text. "Well yeah, his love for that chick has gotta be stronger than the stuff"

"How are we gonna do that?! That juice was too strong!!" Fionna slumped down on the couch. "I'm gonna call the matchmaker."
Fi got up, "who?".
I took out my phone, "the matchmaker" I repeated. "She's a rad chick, also one of my best friends." Fi nodded. "Well, call her dude!"

Not really much of a cliffhanger or is it? Sorry again for leaving you guys like that on the last chapter. Haha! Things were in the way. Homework.
Animes. Korean Dramas. These Korean dramas keep leaving me on a cliffhanger hmph! > ^ <
