····The Queen····

I wandered the halls mindlessly as people passed me without thought. Usually, I would've been mad that nobody was paying attention to me, but after Audrey's terrible freak accident, I wasn't in the mood to talk to anybody. And I didn't think they would want a fist imprinted on their faces.

I opened my locker and pulled out my French textbook, still keeping the scowl on my face. The thought was still on my mind. Audrey's death was either planned, or unexpected. I personally thought she was just a victim of a seriously messed up killer, but after what Winter told me the other day, I was starting to reconsider.

If Winter was in front of Audrey, then she would've been attacked... IF the murder was objectless. But she wasn't attacked, and that tells me someone was plotting for Audrey to be killed.

I punched the locker closest to me, which surprised some people. I just... didn't understand! Why Audrey?! What horrible, sinful thing did she do to deserve death?! What kind of psychopathic freak would have the balls to kill such an innocent redneck?

"Mallory?" someone asked behind me. I turned around and saw Damian's right hand man, Alex. He had curly brown hair and dark brown--almost black eyes. It scared me sometimes. Though his face was smiling, his eyes were secretly killing everyone. So dark and so mysterious. I couldn't see past them.

"Alex... is something wrong?" I asked. He shrugged and pulled over his football jacket.

"Just wondering why you were over here punching lockers over here. Are you okay?" Alex asked. He stepped closer, and I stepped back cautiously.

"Uh..." was all I could manage to say. I really didn't like being around Alex.

"It must be about the Audrey accident," Alex said. I glared at him. "Its really tragic. I thought she was really cute. But she was mean sometimes. That night of the party, she basically called me a whore. Not that I care, but she was the who--" he said. I walked up to Alex, grabbing his collar. He looked at me with wide eyes.

"Look, I don't care who you are, but if you call Audrey a whore one more time, I will kick your balls so far up your throat you won't be able to taste anything except for the taste of your sweaty genitals," I threatened, releasing Alex and threw him against the lockers. "So you'd better hope you're not allergic to nuts."

"Hey, guys?" Winter said. Damian and I looked up at her from our lunch. "I think Jeffery can help us. I mean, he saw Audrey before the murder and saw her body right after. He's our biggest witness right now." I set down my fork and bit the inside of my lip.

"You only want him in because he's seen more? Winter, you don't know if he was the murderer or not!" I yelled. Winter's eyes flashed with pure anger for a second, then it returned to its normal, calm jade self.

"Jeffery is not the murderer. He's too nice. He wouldn't hurt a fly."

"That doesn't mean he wouldn't hurt a person."

"You've already heard his alibi! He's innocent, Mallory! Why are you suspecting him?!" Winter yelled at me. I stood up from my seat and pounded on the table.

"I'm suspecting everybody, alright?! Don't think you're so special, you fucking nerd! Why don't you go making out with your gorilla boyfriend?!" I yelled. Winter stared at me with tear brimming eyes. I knew then, I had gone too far. Winter stood up and lowered her head.

"You know, I was actually hoping that we could be friends, but you will always be a bitch." Winter said as she left. I kept my fists clenched and sat down. I knew that everybody was staring at me, and I guess I deserved it.
