"Hurry up," Charlie ordered as she snuck behind the counter of Target and headed to the back of the store where their little security room was. She moved swiftly and quietly and half the time I didn't even know where she was. Charlie stepped into the room and looked around. No one was in there--but she grabbed a metal crowbar off of the ground anyways. She sat in the seat and started manipulating all of the cameras at once--checking for Alex. Unfortunately--and horrifyingly, he wasn't in clear view of anything. Charlie cursed under her breath and ran her hand through her hair. It got caught in a knot and she struggled to pull it out. I chuckled and when she glared at me, I jumped. She turned back around without saying anything.

"Damian, do you see anything? Alex could have left the building." Charlie asked. Damian replied back with a no.

"Nobody's left. They're all caught up over Mallory plus the guards won't let them leave." Damian said. Charlie's groaned and she slumped in her seat.

"Could this go any more wrong?" she muttered. I bit my lip and opened my mouth to speak, but I felt a strong pair of hands pull me back and wrap my hands behind my back. I gasped when I felt a cold, sharp blade press against my neck.

"Boo!" Alex said in a sing-song voice. Charlie's eyes widened and she reached for her crowbar, but he pressed the knife deeper. I gulped. "Don't. Not unless you want your boy toy here to bleed all over your fucking face." he said. Charlie paled and pulled back her hand.

"So you are the murderer..." she said slowly. Alex hummed and smiled creepily.

"Really, you are the slowest bunch ever." he groaned in annoyance. I struggled against his grip, but damn was he strong! Even though I was about an inch taller than him, his grip was like lead.

"So what are you gonna do now? You gonna kill us too?" Charlie asked. She leaned back in her seat. She was taking the remarkably well and was just, super calm.

"Nah, if I did that, then my boss would get real mad. He doesn't like killing, you know?" Alex said. I rolled my eyes. He doesn't like killing, yet he told you to kill an innocent girl? That makes tons of sense, really.

"Really now? If so, would you please let my friend go?" Charlie asked. Alex glanced at me and I glanced at him. His blank stare met with mine and I felt my hands grow ice cold. I as honestly skeptical whether or not he was actually alive or not. Then, he pulled the knife away from me and pushed me towards Charlie. She grabbed me by my hand and squeezed. I raised my eyebrows in surprise and glanced down at her. She kept a straight face, but she was biting her lip. I frowned and looked back at Alex. Charlie squeezed my hand again and before I looked over to her, she ran the crowbar up my leg and slipped it into my hand. I gasped. She wanted me to attack him. I was shocked that she was able to hide the crowbar from him.

Alex slipped the knife back into his pocket and crossed his arms. "Looks like everyone's having fun out there," he squinted his eyes at the security cameras. "And who's that giant?! Is that Jeffrey? What the hell is he doing here--oh, wait... He must be... Damn. I should've known." Alex cursed and Charlie shut off all of the cameras with the click of a button.

"No, when he met you, he didn't know you were the killer, so it's all good." Charlie said. Alex stared at her with a glint in his eyes. He smile turned softer and he stepped closer.

"You're actually pretty smart, freak. No, I should probably call you something else because someone as smart as you shouldn't be called a freak. More like... a genius, or something." he smirked. Charlie didn't budge an inch and her expression didn't change.

"I'm good with freak. Everyone's a freak," she said. Alex frowned at her and stepped closer. I clenched my fists. He'd better not do anything too flashy or else I would cave his head in.
