Zoey Deutch as Charlie Winston
My life is a complete mess. If you thought 90210 was dramatic, then you don't know me. I get bullied, constantly, and by the same person at that. I look so ratchet everyday--not that I care. It's not like anyone's going to look at me. My parents are head of many companies here in Remington, and they're never home. Which is why I live with my Aunt, Holly, who makes the best cheesecake in the entire world. Besides her, all I have left is my laptop... all 20 of them.
"Charlie? Can you come up here? I have dinner." Holly called out. I quickly typed my last sentence, which took less than a second, and closed my laptop. You may be thinking--God, this girl has 20 computers? What is she, some sort of anime geek? No, I'm not an anime geek--I'm a computer geek. A computer genius, so to speak. I know everything from viruses, hardwares, softwares, I can even hack into someone's wifi account... legally. Sometimes.
I walked upstairs and sat down on the dining table as Holly put a plate of ham and mashed potatoes with gravy. I smiled and waited for her to sat down.
"How was your day in the basement?" she asked. I sighed. Yes, I lived in the basement. Mostly because Holly didn't have an extra room that wasn't filled with cats and cat statues--so I took the liberty of making myself at home in the basement. Which I decorated with posters of rock bands and dream catchers everywhere.
"It was... decent. This is the first time you've started the conversation without asking where I got those bruises from."
"If I did ask that, would you even answer?" Holly asked. I shrugged and poked at my food. "Are you going to eat your food this time? I don't want to starve yourself."
"I'm sorry, I'm not very hungry right now." I said pushing my plate away. Holly sighed and stood up.
"It'll be in the fridge if you ever feel hungry." Holly said. I nodded and dragged my feet back to the basement. It was a door inside a little closet underneath the stairs. When you opened it, the stairs--which I remodeled and covered it with purple carpeting--would steep low, so if felt like your upper body was falling forward. I learned in you looked straight, you wouldn't have a problem with sudden dizziness. The sides of the stairs were lined with paper lantern and when you got down to the actual basement, the white ceiling... or floor was covered with christmas lights, illuminating the whole room. I had a tv propped up on a table--which held my stereo system and all of my CD's. There was white carpet with a white couch with fur neon throw pillows, a red swirly chair, a blue and purple beanbag besides my bed. My bed had black sheets and purple pillows with a lace comforter. And a mini refridgerator next to my... cave.
I like to think of myself as Batman. You know why? Because Batman is awesome. Nah, I'm kidding. I have a cave, Batman has a cave. My cave had tons of computers and lots of software systems while Batman has his batmobile and his uniform. He even has his own butler. But you know what? I have my own security system which is on the same level as the City Hall. I have my main computer, which is a Macintosh Pro--it's hooked up about 5 other computers, which I control at once. I like to call myself, the Iris Alpha. One, my favorite flower is the Iris, and I have a lot of those in my room. Alpha comes from the fact that I have complete power over my cave. Makes me feel like I can do anything.
I opened up my laptop and plugged in my phone, letting it charge a few extra percents. Then, I opened up a software and started working on a special... experiment. It's classified information and I'm hoping I can put it to good use later. Then, my phone vibrated and I glanced at it--a smile creeping up on me. I picked up the phone and stared down at the screen.
Good evening, Iris.
Evening, MKitty. How is your night going?
Horrible. There's an aggravating party going on downstairs and I can't concentrate on my meditation. How about yours?
I skipped dinner. I just didn't feel like sitting at a table when there's absolutely nothing to discuss.
My condolences.
Thanks. On another note, I redecorated my room. It could use some getting used to, but I can live with it.
Awesomeness. With beige walls and bamboo floors like mine, I'm really envious. Its not really my type.
I'm sure we all know what kind of taste you have, MKitty.
You know me so well. Anyways, I have to go. Time to get my beauty sleep.
Haha, good night, MKitty.
