Oh shit. Oh shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!! I know I'm cursing a lot, but its for a good reason. You know that feeling you get when you're doing something really bad and you get caught in the action. That was exactly what I was experiencing.

I sat in front of a Starbucks, "spying" on one of the teachers at my school, Beatrice Sylvester. It was a request from my "friend", Winter Jenson.

"Charlie!" Winter called out to me. I turned to her and noticed her eyes were red and swollen as if she had been crying.

"Oh! You're the one from the lunchroom... how did you know my name?" I asked. Winter shrugged and scratched her red head.

"Mallory talks about you a lot, so I just..." she said. I wasn't surprised. "Anyways! I came here to ask you something!" Winter said.

"Okay...?"

Winter took a deep breath. "Can you help me in this murder case?" she asked. I started laughing hysterically.

"AHAHAHAHA!! I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend you or anything, but I'd rather not. There's not many things I would be use of." I stated, but Winter's eyes still glowed with determination.

"Please Charlie! I feel like you can do this!" Winter pleaded. I shook my head.

"I don't even know who died, much less know the murderer." that was a lie. I knew who Audrey Hale was. Mostly from the internet, but it was the same either way. I still didn't know who the murderer was and I wasn't planning on finding out.

"Well, if you can do something, please tell me. I... really need this. For him." Winter said as her cheeks flushed with color. I frowned, but quickly turned it into a smile to keep from disappointing Winter.

"Sure. But, that is, if I can do something."

And that's exactly what I did. Which explains why I'm sitting in front of a Starbucks freezing my ass off. With a camera in one hand and binoculars in the other, I kept my eyes peeled on one certain person. I had a good angle on my camera and was about to click on it, until my chair was moved abruptly. The camera clicked and it wasn't a god picture. Unless you like blurry.

"Shit!" I cursed under my breath. That was probably the best shot I would've gotten out of today.

"Ah, I'm sorry." the person apologized. I glanced up at him, shooting the guy with a menacing glare, then turned away. I heard his footsteps walking away and I turned my attention back onto the person. Suddenly, a hand was on my shoulder and when you're under so much silence, its like a monster appearing from a horror movie. I yelped and dropped my camera, most likely chipping it.

"Shit!

"I'm sorry, I just--" the same guy said. I turned to him, really glaring at him now.

"God, what is your problem?! Why do you keep bothering me?!" I yelled. The guy stepped back and I took a clear glimpse of him. And in a split second, my heart dropped.

"Charlie? Is that you?" Jason asked. I gulped and picked up my camera and wrapped the binoculars around my neck. Then, I stood up and left. "H-Hey! Wait!" But I didn't. I had just got caught in the act of stalking. There was no way I could look Jason in the eye. Not ever again. He would call me a freak--just like everybody else.

Then, I felt a soft hand pull me back. I stumbled into someone's chest and I could feel them panting hard. I looked up and saw Jason's golden eyes--

Golden?

Golden eyes?

How perfect could this man get?

"Geez, how fast do you walk?" he heaved. I pulled away and rubbed my arms nervously.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Buying something for my sister. What are you doing here?" he asked. I glanced around and swallowed.

"Uhm... just... getting some Starbucks! Yeah..." I said. I bit my tongue. What a terrible lie.

"What a terrible lie," Jason said as if reading my mind. "Why are you dressed like a really suspicious person with a camera and binoculars? Don't tell me you were stalking someon--"

"I'm not a stalker!" I yelled again. Jason stepped back in surprise. "I knew it, you were one of them as well..." I said turning to leave. I could feel tears emerging from my eyes, but I choked them back. Right when I had found a good friend, he turned out to be another... them.

"Charlie!" Jason yelled back at me, grabbing my hand. I froze. "Okay, I get it. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I'm sorry I called you a stalker." Jason said. I sniffed and turned to him, taking off my glasses. He stared at me with passionate eyes.

"I'm digging into the Audrey Hale murder case," I said. Jason gasped as his eyes widened. "I'm only doing it on my friends request, so I'm not a total freak." I said.

"Who... who were you watching?" Jason asked. I turned on my camera and flipped through the pictures. They were all of Beatrice Sylvester with a man. "Ms. Sylvester?! Is she connected with the murder?" Jason asked in shock. I bit my lip.

"I'm not sure, but what I do know is that," I said pointing to the man next to Beatrice Sylvester. "Is Audrey Hale's father, Davey Hale. After him and Audrey's mother got divorced, he's been fooling around with women and so far has gone through 13 girlfriends and 3 new remarriages, but this one with Ms. Sylvester has so far been the longest." I said. Jason nodded slowly.

"Why would he be with someone as ancient as Ms. Sylvester?" I shrugged.

"I don't know for sure why, but I do know that so far, Mr. Hale hasn't released any information about Audrey to the police. Her death isn't even in the paper because they don't have enough information about her." I replied.

"....That's very suspicious."

"Exactly. And now that he's spending so much time with Beatrice Sylvester, I assumed that she would know something and when I confronted her, my suspicions were confirmed." I said. Jason stared at me with his golden eyes.

"So basically, you blackmailed her." he said. I shrugged and slipped the camera back into my pocket. He chuckled and crossed his arms. "Haha, wow Charlie... you really are.... something."
