"No!" she screamed. "No way in hell am I working together with her!" she said "her" like it as toxic. Her lips were puckered when she said it. I rolled my eyes at her complaining.

"Trust me, it's not so pleasurable for me either. Stop being a fucking baby and grow up already." I muttered. Mallory Govern glared at me sinisterly. I looked away and smirked. Right now, with nobody around, Mallory didn't have anybody to impress. Therefore, I had the power.

"Why is she here?" Mallory snapped at Winter. She smiled sheepishly and shrugged.

"She's helping me on the investigation." Winter replied.

"I don't need her help." Mallory said. I glanced at her.

"Well, I'm not here to help you. I'm here for Winter. Don't flatter yourself, honey." I said the last part sarcastically. Mallory growled at me menacingly. I liked getting on her nerve. Since Winter was here, I felt like I could do whatever I wanted.

"Look, I'm not here to have a bitch fight with you, but if you want to start something, I'd be more than happy to put you in your place." Mallory said through gritted teeth. I bit my lip to keep from smiling. I had almost broken her. Just on more push and...

"No!" Winter shouted. We both looked at her. The redhead was giving us both the evil eye through her glasses, which seemed to magnify her anger. "We will NOT start fighting like immature brats here, okay?!" she yelled. I nodded and so did Mallory. Winter sighed and turned to walk away. "Good. Now lets go."

We entered Winter's house--which by the way, smelled oddly of French toast. I loved it. We sat in the living room and I pulled out my laptop.

"Where are your parents?" Mallory asked.

"They're at work. They won't be home for a while, so we have a lot of time." Winter said. U shrugged and slipped off my backpack, pulling out my laptop. They circled around me and I pulled up a document.

"This," I said pointing to the screen, which was covered in huge words. "Is Davey Hale's police record." I said.

"We already know that stuff." Winter said. I shook my head in disagreement.

"This is Davey Hale's police record, in Remington." I said. The two girls gasped.

"I didn't know Audrey's dad had a police record!" Mallory gasped.

"Of course not. After all, it wasn't released to the public. Not until now." I said. Mallory wrinkled her eyebrows.

"How... how did you get that information?" she asked. I narrowed my eyes at her. She gulped.

"Don't ask that. Its none of your business," I said. Mallory glared at me, and turned away. I rolled my eyes. " Anyways, I found this really interesting. Right here, it's a list of reports from peoples who called the police on Davey Hale..." I said pointing to the screen. "Reports of screaming, sudden gun fire noises, drunken actions, and right here..." I lowered my voice. "Attempted murder and abuse."

"Attempted murder? Abuse? Why would he...? Who?" Winter asked. I glanced at Mallory, who was growing very uncomfortable.

"Take a guess. His ex-wife--AKA, Audrey Hale's mother's body was found in a murky swamp about five miles away from the Hale household. She died from a fourth degree burn, although there were no reports of fire inn the Audrey household. Which leaves only one reason left..." I said.

"Davey Hale murdered his wife..." Mallory muttered in complete horror. I leaned back in my seat.

"He's a sick man. Also, from that abuse report, I'm assuming he beat Audrey." I said. Mallory shook her head vigorously.

"No! No, no... Davey wouldn't do that! I know him! He's nice and really hospital and wouldn't kill an innocent woman!" Mallory argued. I frowned upon her.

"He may be nice, but that's only a mask, Mallory."

"You don't know that!"

"I'm looking at his police record right here! He's killed over 6 women! He's a serial killer, Mallory! And he could possibly have killed Audrey Hale too, considering she was beaten by him!" I yelled back. Suddenly, Winter slammed her fist on the coffee table. HARD.

"We are not here to fight! If you guys aren't going to get over your little hatred for each other, then maybe we should just forget about this plan! Maybe we should just forget about Audrey Hale! Leave her in the ground while her body rots in vain!!" Winter screamed. The both of us didn't speak. We were too frozen by her scolding, and trust me, it scared the living daylight out of me.

Winter pushed up her glasses and sat down. "Do we have a plan, Charlie?" she asked. My breath went shaky.

"U-Uh, yeah... I have a plan." I stammered.

"And?" Winter snapped. Damn, this girl was scary. Despite being a year younger than me, she was the spawn of Satan.

"Well basically--now that we have Mallory in our pursuit--we can have her... well, seduce Davey Hale, basically. Find out if he's the culprit." I said. Mallory stared at me blankly.

"Excuse me?"
