····The Queen····
Audrey's dad led me into the living room and turned on Netflix. I sat down in the middle of the leather couch uncomfortably. Charlie and Winter were listening. If I said something wrong, this whole plan could go wrong.
Davey sat next to me and "coincidently" put his hand over mine. I felt disgusted.
"Are you okay? Your heartbeat is going haywire! What's going on?" Charlie asked on the other side. My breath went scattered as I replied.
"Not. Okay! Panic button! Panic button!" I whispered. Davey squeezed my hand tighter and I breathed in.
"You okay, sweetheart?" he asked. Or whispered, more of what. Note, right in my ear. I shivered and moved away from him.
"Aha, I'm fine! Can we... move on to the questions?" I asked. Davey looked at me a dark and murderous look, which made me tense up. Then, that dangerous glare turned into a somewhat calm look. He smiled and turned to me.
"Sure, why not?" he asked.
"Um, okay... first of all, are you okay with Audrey's death being on the media?" I asked. Davey shrugged.
"She always wanted to be known throughout the world, but I doubt this is the way she wanted it to be." Davey replied. I nodded at his response. Maybe Charlie was wrong. Maybe Davey Hale wasn't a bad guy after all.
Just as I was about to ask the next question, the tv switched off, which caught both of our attentions.
"Well, ain't that put a wrench in your gears?" Davey asked. I gulped as he stood up and tried to turn on the tv, but it wouldn't happen. He glanced at me and I froze. "Would you like to cone with me to rent some movies?" he asked.
"Don't do it, Mallory." Charlie warned. She was starting to piss me off. She wanted me to do this, so why not let me do it my way?
I stood up. "Sure, why not?"

We drove up to an empty Blockbusters and parked in the back. Davey unplugged the key and leaned back in his seat heavily. I squinted my eyes outside. Because of the expecting snow, the air was thick with fog. I could faintly see the Blockbuster sign flickering dimly.
"Where are you, Mallory?"
I didn't answer. It was too quiet to utter a word without the other person hearing.
"May I ask what we're doing here at night?" I asked. Davey frowned and glanced at me.
"Continue with the questions." he demanded. I was taken back. He was so forward and demanding, it was scary.
"U-Uh, okay.... Do you feel Audrey's death was unfair?" I asked. Davey was quiet, then he shrugged.
"Nope." he said. My eyes widened in surprise. "Everybody does dies, its just that some peoples deaths are a bit too early. Like Audrey." he said with no expression. I clenched my fists to keep from punching this creep square in the face.
"You mean you don't feel any sympathy for Audrey?! She was your daughter! How could you be so heartless?!" I screamed at him.
"Mallory, calm down!" Charlie yelled. I didn't listen. I was furious.
"You know, you are the worst father ever!" I yelled. Davey glared at me.
"And who said you had the right to tell me how to raise my children?" he asked.
"More like beat them!" I blurted and immediately took it back. He stared at me with wide eyes that were filled with anger. I threw back my seatbelt and ran out of the car, only to be grabbed by the leg. I slammed my head against the concrete. I groaned and felt something wet dribble down my face.
"Mallory? Mallory! What's going on?!"
I couldn't answer. All the blood was rushing towards my head and I could feel myself passing out. Davey came out of the car and put my hands behind my back and held me down.
"I did not beat Audrey! Why would I do that to my own daughter?!" he swore.
"Says the one who is literally harassing me right now!" I said through clenched teeth. This bitch may be some hillbilly, but he doesn't lift cows for stupid reasons. He was so strong. Davey put his weight on my and held my head down. The gravel beneath me scrapped my face. Ad he held my head down... the ear piece fell out. I gasped and tried to put it back in, but then I remembered. I was being held hostage.
I struggled against him, kicking his back, but he didn't budge. More like he put more wright and me. And he was big.
I was just about to pass out as a figure emerged from the fog. I looked up at the person--half of my vision was blurred because of the loss of blood. I opened my mouth and mouthed the word 'help'--only hoping for the other person to recognize. They stepped forward and my eyes widened.
"Mallory Govern?" he called out. My mouth gaped open, like a fish out of water.
From the ear piece, I heard Charlie yelling, Abort, abort! Though I didn't understand why.
And before I knew it, everything went black.
