····The Goth····

My Friday morning started off by an annoying phone alarm, which I accidentally pressed snooze and I woke up with a jolt 5 minutes later. A sign of a horrible day ahead of me.

While washing my face, cold ass water ran, making me more tired.

While putting on my clothes, I couldn't find my favorite belt, nor my shoes. I wonder why?

My car didn't start up. It just made a sputtering sound; one similar to how you blow your nose. Uh, gross? After that, I realized that these were God's signs telling me NOT to go to school. And after all of these signs he was giving me, I didn't think twice.

I sat criss-crossed on my bed with a bowl of strawberry cheesecake ice cream on one side of me, and a jumbo jar of nutella on the other. I had my phone in my hand and my laptop playing songs in front of me. I shoved a forkful of ice cream into my mouth as my phone vibrated. I glanced down at it and typed in my password.

   Morning. :)

I quickly typed in my reply.

Messaging during school again, Iris? What a bad girl.

Oh hush, it's not like the teachers going to catch me.

   Touché.

   What are you doing?

Skipping school and stuffing my face.

   And I'm the bad person?

I have my reasons. What are you doing?

I have something planned for later. I have... something to do for my friend.

I didn't think you had friends.

I do! And she's a very good friend. Although, there's someone there who is definitely not needed.

An enemy? Pull out you pistols and stand clear, its about to go down.

Haha, she's somewhat an enemy. More like my arch-nemesis.

   So what's happening?

I dunno if I can tell you...

You can tell me anything, Iris. Trust me. I know nobody who would tell... or I don't know anybody at all.

...okay. Okay. Its been going around a lot at my school, and I have recently found some interesting information.

   What for?

There was a long pause in Iris's message. Then, when she replied, I couldn't contain my anxiety.

   Its for a murder.

This girl... there's been a murder at her school, she's 17, and she told me she lived in California.

Could she... could she be living in Remington? Or is it just a coincidence? A coincidence that a murder happened recently and a coincidence that she's involved in a murder?

   I doubt it.

"Jay?" my older sister, Vanessa, called from downstairs. I could hear her light footsteps coming closer up the stairs. Then, there was a knock at my door. I turned and Vanessa opened the door. She looked around and locked eyes with me. Her black, ombré hair structured her face and the blonde matched her pale, golden eyes.

"Yeah?" I replied. She frowned at me.

"Why aren't you at school?" she snapped. I rolled my eyes and shoved another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth.

"I should ask you the same thing." I said back. Vanessa glared at me and crossed her arms.

"That's none of your business." she said confidently. I shrugged and turned my attention back to my laptop.

"Then me not going to school is none of your business. Shut the door behind you, if you would please." I said, making Vanessa growl. She narrowed her eyes at me and slammed the door. I heard her run downstairs very loudly.

"Mom said you need to go out!" Vanessa shouted. I groaned at the thought of it. Going out? Mingling? With... people? I was way too lazy for that.(A/N: I'm sure most of you can relate...)

I walked out of the Blockbuster with a bag of movies I was planning to watch later. They were mostly horror movies, but I fit some chick flicks in there.

While I was walking back to the parking lot l, I heard a faint squeal. I looked around, but I knew it was my imagination. Going to Blockbuster at 10 'o clock at night is something you would imagine out of a horror movie. The parking lot was empty, there was a thick fog around the whole town and the street lamps flickered like fireflies.

I pulled out my keys and shoved it into the keyhole, when I heard yet another scream. My head whizzed around and I narrowed my eyes through the thigh fog. I still saw nothing, but through the small openings in the fog, I saw a figure--multiple figures moving. Moving very frantically. I yanked my keys back out and heaved my way through the fog.

I squinted my eyes and tried to focus the image in front of me. Uhm... there's a car. A red pickup, to be exact. And... the trunk was open. It could've been my imagination, but there were something moving--struggling next to the car. I took one more step, just to see it clearer. There were two people... one was a middle aged man and underneath him was a girl. A girl that looked like she was in high school. She was blonde.... and had blood dripping from her head?! Holy crap!

I squinted my eyes even more. She seemed.... oddly familiar.

Then, I hit me. It hit me like a crowbar to the face.

   "Mallory Govern?"
