Ethel wasn't herself, and yet she still was. "What could be causing this?" Steve asked as they tried to keep her calm. "I don't know, it could have something to do with her not acting like other Super Hybrids during pregnancy, though this could just be her sensing the immense power of the demon and only now trying to defend herself and her unborn children." Anne said as she again tried to walk closer to Ethel, only to be growled at again. "Why don't you try to talk to her Steve, you know, through your mind link." Ashton suggested. "I'll try, after all, we are mates and I should be able to calm her down and find out what's wrong." Steve said before trying to get to Ethel through the link. 'Ethel. Ethel, what's wrong? Please calm down, we're here to help. No ones going to hurt you or our children.' Steve said as soon as he felt their link open. He then began to feel the pain that she felt in her stomach and he felt how scared and sad she was. Then she said it, not through their mind link, but out loud. "He's dead! Our unborn son is dead! He's choking, I can feel it, but I can't help him..." While she growled what she said, the last part came out as a whimper. And then it sunk in and Steve fell on his knees and looked at Anne. He didn't need to say anything for Anne to know that he wanted her to help Ethel, who was now just laying there whimpering in the corner. "We need to get both your children out of you. We'll have to give you a c-section. Ashton take Steve out of here and stay with him until we,re done. I'll need some supplies, Lilia bring them to me, they're in the kitchen cupboard, the red bag. Alice, bring the towels and Rachel, I need you and Alisha to help keep Ethel calm and make a spell to take away any pain she feels. Everyone else I need you all to leave." Everyone immediately did as they were instructed and rushed to get out. Steve however was just too worried about his mate and unborn children, but he let Ashton lead him out of the room and they went to the lounge.

It felt like eternity to Steve. Ethel had blocked him from their mind link, so he had no idea of how she was doing or if everything was okay. Then Anne finally came into the lounge. "Ethel is fine, she has already began healing, you now have a daughter, but we couldn't save your son. I'm so sorry Steve..." Before he knew it he was being lead to the room he and Ethel share. She was asleep in bed, the girl, Lilia, sitting on the couch in the corner holding a baby, his baby. As soon as she saw him she immediately stood up and handed him his baby girl. "Before we got her to the bed to get some sleep she said she wanted to name her Lilian, Iris, or Iliana. She wants you to choose..." Lilia said after Steve had taken the small bundle. He immediately began to smile when he looked at his new daughter. He liked all the names, but he already knew which one he liked best, "Iris, little baby Iris." All Anne, Ashton and Lilia did was smile, then they left Steve so that he could be with his mate and daughter. Steve then pulled the desk chair closer to the bed so that when Ethel woke up she would be looking at him and their daughter.

After about 30 minutes Ethel was finally beginning to stir. Steve watched as she first stretched, then turned towards him and opened her eyes. "You're finally awake." He said before giving her a kiss on the head. She slowly sat up and yawned before smiling and looking down at their baby. "Have you decided on a name for her?" She asked as she swung her legs off the bed and taking their baby and staring at her. "Yeah, I liked all the names, but there's one name that just stood out. Iris." Steve said and Ethel began to smile. "I knew you would like that one, it's my favourite too. It suits her. It reminds me of her eyes." They spoke for quite a while before Ashton came in telling them that they should probably have something to eat, especially Ethel. So they all went to the dining room and had something to eat, then they went to bed and placed Iris in an old cot that Anne had found in the storage room behind the house. It was still in good condition and had not even a single piece of dust on it, due to a spell Anne had someone place on everything in the house. It was so that she would have less cleaning to do. As Steve lay there next to Ethel he felt sad, but it wasn't just his own feelings, it was also Ethel's. "I'm sorry Ethel, we will have a funeral tomorrow." Steve said then he kissed her head and they went to sleep.
