A while later Steve came back into the cave with some a bottle full of water. "Wow you must have been hungry?" Steve said when he saw the deer all shredded up. "Yeah for some reason I'm really hungry today." "It's probably just from escaping last night that's all." He said as he walked closer and tore a piece of clothing off so that he could clean her leg. After a while of painful cleaning Ethel was up and running again. Then when she had fully healed they were off to the next place so that they weren't tracked too easily by Steve's brother, but something was different with Ethel, she wasn't acting quite herself today. "Come on slow poke! I bet you can't catch me!" she said persuasively, taunting him to get her, almost like a child. "Are you feeling alright Ethel?" He asked as he followed her through the woods. "Yes of course! Why would anything be wrong with me?" she answered almost playfully. But still, Steve felt as though there might be something wrong with her so he told her to start chasing him and they instead headed back to the boarding house so that Anne could examine her and find out what was wrong.
