"You know, most people already have the names picked out by now," I sighed exasperatedly, running a hand through my hair. Harry and I were lounging on the couch with Batman faintly playing in the background while we looked through a book of baby names. It was a hard thing to settle on, not something I was looking forward to. There were so many cute names that I absolutely loved. Too many names that I loved and they were starting to blur together.
"We can name them Thea and Harry." I looked up at Harry, hoping to catch a smile or something in his eyes to give away that he was joking about the names, but when I saw nothing, I groaned.
"We are not naming them after us, or anyone we know for that matter. Get the thought out of your mind." Harry rolled his eyes, but flipped the page and browsed through all the names. Some of them were ridiculous if you ask me. I couldn't imagine someone wanting to name their kid Apple or Bigsby. Someone must have been drunk when they came to the conclusion that those would be a good name for a baby. "Why is this so hard? Why can't a name pop out at me and scream this is the one!?" I asked, annoyance getting the best of me. I could feel the emotions stream through my body. All I wanted was to scream and cry and scream some more. "This is so frustrating." I could feel tears prick my eyes making me even more upset.
"Hey, Baby, it's okay," Harry cooed, closing the book and setting it on the table before turning me around so I could see him better. I had hot, angry tears rolling down my cheeks for no reason and that aggravated me even more causing more tears to come. "Don't cry. We still have a little while to pick names, you don't need to get worked up over it." Chummy decided that this was a perfect time to jump on the couch and join the little cuddle we had going on.
"But it's so frustrating. I don't like any of the names. There all so stupid; I mean who names their kid Abcde?! It's not even a name!" I exclaimed. Harry suppressed a grin after I finished my short outburst. "It's not funny, so don't smile."
"It's pretty funny. Can you just imagine our kids coming home and talking about the new kid in their class and they'll be talking about Abcde?" A smile played on my lips, the anger and annoyance slowly going away.
"That would be pretty funny," I mumbled. "But that doesn't change the fact that we still don't have a name for our kids. May I need to remind you that my due date is in a few weeks?" Harry nodded, a full grin-dimples and all-gracing his lips. "I really like your dimples."
"Do you, now?" Harry asked with a raised eyebrow. I stared into his eyes the whole time while nodding my head. "Well, I like the freckles on your face. I think they're adorable." I scrunched my nose at his response.
"These," I pointed to the specks splattered across my nose and cheeks, "are not adorable." Harry only grinned at me before placing a soft kiss on my forehead. I frowned a little at the lousy excuse of a kiss which made Harry smile even wider. "You better kiss me properly," I told him.
"I guess it's the least I can do," Harry obliged, planting a delicate kiss on the corner of my mouth. Still not satisfied, I turned my head ever so slightly to receive the proper kiss that I wanted. The wonderful feeling still ignited a fire within me, the soft kiss slowly becoming more passionate, our lips moving blissfully together. His hand cupped my cheek, running small circles in the soft skin. My fingers danced along his chin, holding his face in place. We didn't kiss like this often, most of the time quick pecks before he left to record. I relished these moments, never wanting to forget them. The way his other hand was on my thigh and every few seconds it would crawl up it. The way, even though we were breathless, he wouldn't pull away. The way his nose would nudge mine.
Before anything else could progress, Chummy yapped happily and started jumping in my lap. I giggled quietly and pulled away. "I think Chummy wants to go outside." Harry groaned, resting his forehead on mine.
