Push me away

         "I'll race you to the kitchen!" You say

 taking off down the long halls of the institute with Alec following behind you. You look at him as you run, everything is kind of a blur, but you could see he was laughing. You and Alec had been messing around a lot lately, trying to get away from all the stress of Valentine, and the mortal cup, and a Clave member coming, the lost went on and on.

You sped up to pass him, and he dropped back behind you. You were about to reach the kitchen when you felt a big strong pair of long arms wrap around your waist and pull you off the ground. You looked up to see Alec gently setting you on the ground before he took off running.

"Hey!" You yelled. You laid there for a second knowing there was no possible way for you to win. After a minute or so you got up, then slowly and silently crept into the kitchen.

Alec's back was facing you and he was talking to Izzy and Jace. They saw you, and you raised your finger to your lips, signaling them to keep quiet. Within the next second you ran up and jumped on Alec's back, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and your legs around his waist. He tensed up.

"You cheated" you whispered in his ear. He realized it was you before sliding his hands down onto your thighs to support you. You let your legs unravel from his waist.

"Did I?" He asked with a smirk. "I demand a rematch later" you whispered. "If I must" he says with a sigh. "I'm going to go shower, when I'm done, we're starting this back up" you said hopping off him and walking back to your room.

After a minute or so of just standing there smiling, Alec sat down. Jace and Izzy kept staring at him smiling. "What?" He asked. "Just ask her out already!" They both shouted in unison. Alec rolled his eyes.

"She's my best friend, she wouldn't go for it" he said shaking his head. "Yes she would! Anyone can see she's head over heels for you!" Izzy yelled. "Trust me, she would say yes" Jace added. "Whatever, I don't have time for this" Alec said getting up and walking out.

Meanwhile, you were washing your hair, thinking about your best friend. 'God I love that boy, I wish he was mine' you thought to yourself. Izzy was right, you were head over heels in love with her brother.

When you got out of the shower, you got dressed and dried your hair. You got geared up to do some weapon training with the eldest Lightwood sibling, then walked out to go talk to him. He already had his bow and all his gear on. There was something different about him though, he was acting odd. Kind of nervous.

"Hey, I've been looking for you" he says. "Looks like you found me" you say smiling. "I've been wanting to ask you something for a while now" he says rubbing the back of his neck. "What is it?" You asked shyly.

Your mind suddenly filled with thoughts of what he might ask. Would he ask you to be his girlfriend? Your heart started racing, red color flooded your cheeks.

"D-do you want to um, p-possibly, go out-" he started before a loud noise silenced him. You both turned your head and watched as the institute doors flew open.

Before you knew it Valentine began to emerge from the other side of the door. Others gasped, while you instantly pulled one of the knives out of your thigh holster and threw it at the man. One of Alec's arrows followed closely behind it.

The monster caught both of them, then began pulling up his sleeve. You grabbed another one of your knives and began rushing over. Alec grabbed you and pulled you behind him. He set another arrow and aimed.

Valentine pulled out his stele and went over a rune on his arm. Suddenly, he was no longer Valentine, but a woman with medium length blonde hair pulled back into a tight ponytail and blue eyes.
