You had been training on and on for months. You were so impatient; you couldn't really wait to go on the mission. Hodge had trained you so hard, that you every single night had gone to bed before nine. Alec was extremely worried about you pushing yourself too hard. The mission was dangerous; it was the only reason you were training so hard. You had been a shadowhunter your whole life. So you knew when to train – also Alec would be too over protective to let you go with him on the mission without training, so of course you had trained harder than ever.
You were currently in the gym, training the last one, before going on the mission. Isabelle had trained you the last week, because you both felt like you needed some time together, and because Izzy hadn't been training that much, you thought why not do it together.
You were almost done with the last training, when you felt the appearance in the doorway. You both stopped and looked at Alec, who leaned himself up against the doorframe, with his arms crossed. "Hey baby." You smiled sweetly at Alec. He gave you a small nod, and you instantly knew he was in a bad mood. "I'll stop for today, Iz. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Isabelle threw a quick glance at Alec, looking rather confused, before looking at you once again. "Well yeah. Of course, hon." You turned your back towards Isabelle, and went straight to Alec. "Come on." You took his arm, and went into your room. You sat down on your bed, and leaned a bit backwards. "What is going on, grumpy cat?" You sent him a teasing smile. "I... ehm.. I don't want you to go on that mission tomorrow. It is simply too dangerous, and we are already Izzy, Clary, Jace and me. It's more than enough. I'd rather you would stay home." What the fuck did he just say to you? You had trained so hard, for so long, that you couldn't even remember a day, the past 3 months you hadn't trained. And now Alec thought it would be 'too dangerous' for you to come along.
You jumped off the bed and quickly stood by Alec. "What, you don't want me on the mission, well lucky for me, you don't decide what I should or shouldn't do." You took of your shirt, so you could wash the sweat away from today's training. "Y/N I mean it, you're not going. I've already spoken with the clave. You aren't going, beside Lydia is coming over to keep you with company." His voice was determined; he wasn't going to let you go tomorrow. "You can't not do that! I am not your fucking property, and I think I would do anything. And I mean ANYTHING else in the whole shitty demon world, then to hang out with a girl you almost married 4 years ago. I am going tomorrow." You tried to close the bathroom door, but Alec put his arm between. "You know what Y/N, this is not something you can fight me about, the clave will be watching you for me tomorrow. YOU WILL NOT ATTENT THE MISSION!" You stared chocked at him, he was really angry with you now. "You know what Alec, I have been a shadowhunter my whole life, just like you, just like Isabelle. I have been training my ass out for three months straight for the mission, and then you by one word stopped it all from happening! You are not my dad; you are my boyfriend! If a shadowhunter can't kill demons, or fight downworlders who aren't doing as told, then what am I? The little housewife? The one who waits for her loved one to get home. No, I will not be that boring person." You slamed the door in his face, and locked it before he said another word. You started the shower and jumped in. You felt your heart beat fall a bit down, and you started to relax.
When you came out of the shower the room what empty. You were kind of happy he left, but at the same time you wanted to scold him a little bit more, for treating you like a little child. You put on some cloths and went to Isabelle's room to talk about her stupid brother. But her room was empty as well. You closed your eyes. He could not be doing this; did he really see you as a little child? Maybe they hadn't left. You hoped there was a teeny tiny miracle and quickly went to Clary's room. But it was empty. You punched the wall beside the doorframe. What a coward he was.
You stamped the whole way back to your room like a little girl, but that was Alec saw you as, so you might as well just be it. You laid down on you bed, and just decided to go to sleep. You didn't want to hang out with Lydia, so you just fell asleep.
You woke up in the morning, feeling hot, so you tried to push of your duvet, but realised an arm was holding you. You looked up to see the Alec sleeping. His face was so relaxing and peaceful, so you decided to grip his arm, and drop it on himself, causing the hit to wake him up. "What was that for?" You stood up from the bed, to put on some pants. "Well, let me see. Hmm.. My boyfriend thinks he can control me, and he left to go on a mission while we still were fighting. So if 'somebody' had been killed, 'somebody' else would be guilty for the rest of her life." Alec rubbed his eyes, and looked at you. You were starring back at him to get a reaction. "I know I did Y/N, but... I just didn't... I..." You looked at him, waiting. "You what Alec? I'm so tired of this! Give me a reason to understa..." Alec sat up quickly. "You really want to know the reason? Okay. You psychopathic mother, who you thought had died for 16 years ago, where hunting you down. That was what the mission was for. I have kept that information from you, so you wouldn't be so fucking paranoid. I know you have trained hard, but I couldn't risk anything! Your mother is dead now, and she will never hunt you ever again, and I will never stop you for going on a mission again, okay?" You felt like throwing up, that sick woman who called herself your mother, had tried to hunt you down? You felt the hair on your neck raising, and a chill sent down your spine. You slowly laid down on the bed, and hid your head in the crook of Alec's neck. "I'm so sorry for behaving like a little brat." You felt relaxed laying there, listening to Alec breathing. "Y/N, I'm sorry for keeping the information in the dark, but for me it was the only real way to protect you. And you I know you can protect yourself, but your mother was psychopathic, and I'm glad she is dead." You smiled kissing Alec's jaw. "Yeah so am I. Thank you." Alec looked down at you, and sent you a careful smile. "You're welcome baby, I would do anything for you." Alec took you in his arms, holding you tight. You felt yourself blush, and moved a little upwards, so you were face to face. "I would do anything for you too." Alec smiled lovingly and pressed a kiss to your forehead, before kissing your lips gently. "I love you." "I love you too."
