It was early on Sunday when he went to visit her again. His mates were fast asleep after having spent most of the night playing video games.
This time, Prudence opened the door for him.
She was dressed in a knee length white dress, her reddish-blonde hair was brushed out neatly. Her bible was held securely in her hands. She smiled at the sight of him. "Goodmorning, Ashton." She greeted him.
"Hey, Pru," He grinned, "Ready for another day of fun?"
"Erm..." She began nervously. "Sorry, Ash. You'll have to come back later. I was just about to head to church." Her face was brightened by her smile when an idea came to her. "You're welcome to come along with me."
Ashton shook his head, looking down at his clothes. His old Ramones t-shirt, which had the sleeves cut off and ripped skinny jeans. "I don't think I'm dressed for church."
She smiled warmly at him. "God won't mind what you're wearing as long as you show up."
"Okay, but you'll need to lead the way because I don't know how to get there." He told her.

The church seemed bigger to him in the day light. It was a two floor structure, with several smaller buildings surrounding it. The parking lot was vast, and at the very end of it was the building where he remembered they had dropped Prudence off for the youth group.
To the other side of the church were more buildings.
He parked his prius as close as he could and saw a woman with a table set up. She was selling all kinds of candy and snacks.
By the church doors was another woman selling rosaries and Catholic books. She stopped at that table and greeted the woman. "Why, goodmorning, Mary Ellen." She smiled.
"Hello dear." The woman responded. Taking a look at Ashton, she smiled wide, "Oh, and who might this handsome young man be? Is he your boyfriend?"
Prudence went red in the face. "We're just friends."
"Well," The woman told Ashton. "Prudence is such a lovely young woman. You better act fast before she gets away from you."
"Mary." Prudence said awkwardly, her eyes begging for her to stop. "I just came because I'd like to buy a rosary." Her fingers ran over the dozens of colorful rosaries until she stopped at a handmade one. It was made of white thread.
She picked it up and examined it.
"How much for this one?" She asked.
"One dollar." The woman replied.
"I'll take it." She smiled, reaching into her small bag to get her money.
Ashton shook his head, pulling his wallet out of his pocket quickly. "I'll pay for that, Pru. Don't worry about it."
He grabbed a dollar and was about to hand it to the woman when she stopped him, pulling his hand back. "I'll pay for it. I can't have you pay for something I'm going to give you as a present." She smiled.
Prudence handed the woman her money and gave Ashton the rosary, which he placed around his neck.
Grabbing a hold of his hand, she led him into the large church. She had him sit at one of the first pews and then she walked off somewhere, leaving Ashton all by himself.
