[ thirty- two ] staying indoors

After Prudence's confession, Lucy thought it would be best if the boys went home. She didn't want her sister to feel pressured into giving Luke her first kiss after all.

The boys walked into their house, Luke sighed. "I can't believe she hasn't been kissed."

"Its worse than I thought." Calum commented.

"I don't want to do this anymore." Michael told his mate, a frown taking over his features. "Prudence is a nice girl. And she's grown on me...I'm not the same jerk I was when I first met her."

"That's what I had been saying from the beginning, but none of you listened to me." Ashton spoke up in annoyance.

Luke followed his mates into the livingroom after shutting the door behind them. "I suggest that we forget about this stupid contest and just help her finish all the things on her list. The more people, the merrier, right?"

"But this was so entertaining to watch!" Calum protested.

"If you want to watch something interesting to watch, then turn on the tele." Ashton suggested, arms crossed over his chest.

"Okay," Calum began, "How about we change it up so it won't be so bad? How about whoever gets her first kiss is the winner?"

"I guess that's more reasonable..." Michael mused.

"No its not." Ashton said, "Its just as bad because we'd still be playing with her feelings."

Calum shook his head. "You guys can't back out. Its either this option or the first one."

"I'd rather go with the second option." Luke decided.

"Same." Michael agreed.

"So..." Luke said casually, attempting to change the subject. "What are we gonna do about the bucket list then?"

Michael sighed. "We said we'd take turns, didn't we?"

The two other boys nodded, but Luke added, "Yeah, I know. But I meant...who's gonna go first?"

"I'll go." Ashton's hand shot up in a flash.

"I call second." Michael grinned.

"I guess I'm last." Luke shrugged.

"And also," Michael added, "By the time we finish her list, we should ask her which one of us she likes best because I know for a face the three of us have a thing for Prudence."

Ashton shook his head. "I don't. She's just like a sister to me."

Luke scoffed. "You're so oblivious, mate."

"If she falls in love with one of us before we finish the list, then the other two need to promise to back off and let the other one be with her. So, this is gonna be a fair battle for her love. Alright, men?" Michael looked at his two best mates, a serious look on his face.

Luke's blue eyes stared into Michael's green ones, a fire of determnation burning within them. "Deal."

"Deal." Ashton agreed with a roll of his eyes.

As they had agreed, Ashton had the first turn to take Prudence out somewhere. He drove to her house with an uneasy feeling eating away at him. He knew that starting today, things would begin to change. That was the last thing he wanted.
