epilogue.

ten years later

Several years passed since Ashton had left Sydney. It had become a place that brought him pain, and he had spent his time focused on his music. Lucy and Calum had ended up getting married. Luke and Michael had found someone to love. But Ashton still was not ready to move on. He still found himself mourning the loss of his wife.

She had been the love of his life.

Upon his return, he found himself on the beach on a warm afternoon much like the time when he visited with Prudence. His mind was filled with memories of her. And his eyes pooled up with tears. There wasn't a day in which he didn't think of her.

Prudence changed his life, as well as the ones of his friends. She taught them to love someone, not for their exterior, but their interior.

He knew his love was up in heaven, with the God she so strongly believed in.

As he thought of her, he saw a bottle wash up on the shore. His eyes widened in surprise as he saw a piece of paper inside it. It looked like the bottle they had sent into the ocean together, ten years prior. He knelt down to pick it up and observed it in his hands. Ashton felt the memories flooding back from that day and his eyes filled with tears.

Slowly, and with shaking hands, he pulled the cork off and got the rolled up sheet of paper out.

Unfolding it, he saw there was a message written by Prudence's hand.

'Paradisi, gloria.
I love you with all my heart, Ashton.
-Prudence Carrigan'

Ashton smiled slightly at the words on the small sheet of paper.

"She's in her paradise." He said.
