[ forty one ] world tour

Almost as soon as they got off the plane, from a flight of thirteen hours, the first thing Ashton did was to call Prudence on the phone. It was three in the morning in the city of Los Angeles, which meant it was likely night time in Sydney. Prudence picked up the phone and greeted him in a cheerful voice, "Oh, hello Ashton. How was your flight?" Though he was glad to hear her voice, he couldn't help but notice how tired she really sounded. It was almost as though she had been the one to travel instead of him.

"Great." He replied with a smile playing on his lips. "But I miss you already." He admitted to her with a sigh. As he spoke to her, he felt like a little love sick child. But it was what Prudence did to him and being away from her made him love her that much more.

"I miss you boys too." She said to him. "But you'll be back before you know it."

"Time isn't going fast enough." Ashton said in a pessmistic voice.

Prudence tried to sound encouraging. "You need to truly enjoy the time you get to travel and see the world. I know music is something you love, so just have fun and time will go by in a snap. Soon you won't even want to return to Sydney."

"I highly doubt that." He assured her.

The hazel eyed boy was laid on his hotel bed,  in the suite he was sharing with Luke, and let out a yawn. His bandmate had gone into the bathroom to take a shower before going to bed that night. It was one of his strange habits. He always had to shower once before sleeping or else he couldn't shut his eyes, and then once again after getting up in the morning. Calum, Ashton, and Michael thought it to be strange, but Luke claimed it help him relax enough to sleep at night and woke him up enough in the morning to get him through the day.

Already dressed for bed, he walked out of the bathroom and saw his band mate talking on the phone with a goofy smile plastered onto his face. Knowing exactly who he was talking to, he raced to Ashton's bed and climbed on top of him to snatch the phone out of his hand.

"Prudence?" He asked, a smile making way onto his lips. With the phone to his ear, he strolled over to his own bed and plopped down onto it.

"Hello, Luke." She greeted cheerfully.

His grin seemed to grow bigger as he spoke to her. "How's everything back home? Do you miss me? I miss you."

"Stop being so clingy, Lucas." Ashton whined from his bed.

"Oh, I miss all of you." She told Luke.

Pulling the phone away from his ear and covering the mouth piece with the palm of his hand, he stuck his tongue out at his band mate. "Be jealous. She said she misses me, so shut up, mate."

Ashton climbed off his bed and jumped on Luke, a hand reaching for his cellphone. "Give me my phone back!" Luke held the phone up over his head, just out of Ashton's reach. While both boys struggled, Prudence listened in on everything and giggled every now and then and their argument. How she missed having them in Sydney.

In the days following that, the boys made sure to call Prudence at least once a  day. They would be returning in December and she only hoped she would be able to hide her sickness that long. But she knew that would be almost impossible. By the time the boys returned, there would be no way to hide the truth from them.

And she thought it was better if they didn't return to Sydney.

At least they would forget about her and not end up suffering for her loss.
