It has been a year since Annalise Montgomery lost her fifteen year old sister Lilly in the middle of a sunny day when she was waiting in a parking lot.
Annalise takes the case into her control when the police are empty handed. No leads, no traces, n...

"What about this one?"I look at the beautiful blonde girl beside me, who is turning her laptop screen towards me. Before I even see what she's trying to show me, I take a second to watch her lips tilt upwards into a smile, her eyebrows raise, and her glowing blue eyes fixated on her screen.
At such a young age, she's become the most incredible person I know.
Finally, I glance at her laptop to see her flicking through images of an apartment. "It's still in Seamville, it's reasonable pricing, and it looks perfect. Simple, yet not too simple. Plus, it has two bedrooms. One for you, and one for me."
Lilly Montgomery plasters a wide grin on her face and turns to look at me. She's pulling the puppy dog eyes again. "Don't worry Lil. You'll be there with me before you know it."
"You've got a lot of explaining to do." A loud and obnoxious voice suddenly takes all my attention away. I had almost fallen asleep on the metal table before Sheriff Walker practically kicked open the door.
I've been sitting in the same questioning room for hours. The only thing to distract myself with was the handcuff holding me to the table, and my memories of my little sister.
"So do you. You've left me here for almost three hours." My muscles are aching. All I want is to stand up and stretch my back. Not to mention I'm definitely going to be in trouble for not showing up at work. Everything in my pockets was taken off me so I don't even have my phone to make calls.
Scott mom dismisses my remark while she pulls out her seat across from me. She drops a thick notebook on the table, creating a loud noise that I'm pretty sure is a police tactic for them to make the person of interest nervous.
"You'll be here for a lot longer if you don't tell me what you know." Her arms cross against her chest. The burning look in her eyes proves me to just how angry she is.
I know how easy it is. All I would have to do is tell her a brief overview on what I know. But she's failed me too many times. Someone like me has discovered more than she has for Lilly.
I don't want to budge. Everything that I am aware of, is going to be kept from her. "I'm not going to say anything without a lawyer present-"
"For crying out loud!" Her fists slam down on the metal table, startling me since I wasn't expecting this outburst from him. "You're not getting no damned lawyer, Annalise! You're going to sit here and tell me everything otherwise this building is going to become a second home to you."
