Gosh, I feel horrible. My whole body feels incredibly heavy as I lies still on the mattress beneath me. Despite only just waking up from a slumber I didn't even know I was in, everything floods back to me.

It was a dead giveaway with all the voices. As clear as day, I can hear Sheriff Walker. She sounds disgruntled. I had expected it, but I wanted to avoid her.

Gosh, that pill must have knocked me straight out. In both ways, I appreciate it, and don't. "What the hell is she doing in my house? Huh?" I keep my eyes shut as the Sheriff complains.

I can tell she's in the room, and she doesn't bother to be quiet. She's obviously what had woken me. "I found her bleeding in her car mom. I wasn't going to just leave her like that." From the position of Scott's voice, it's sounds like he's still seated in the stool.

"That's when you call nine-one-one and let them handle it. You don't bring her to my house, Scott." Sometimes I forget how much she dislikes me. I guess her temper is worse since I am in the only safe space she had away from me.

"She's my friend mom, I'm not going to just drop her off and send a get-well-soon card." Blondie continues arguing with his mom.

There's silence between them, only heavy breathing for a few minutes because Carla's voice joins the mix. "Natalie, it's okay. She was in a bad way and didn't want the hospital, so I just helped clean her up."

"Clean her up?" Sheriff Walker- otherwise known as Natalie, retaliates. "You're a vet, not a doctor. It makes sense though, I mean, she is a bitch."

"Mom-" Scott hisses out. I will admit, it was a smooth insult. I would've liked to use that one myself. The way she said it doesn't effect me, because I simply don't care.

"I want her woken up and out of my house within the next ten minutes." By now, I have opened my eyes. Sheriff Walker is leaving the room with her arms crossed, Scott is sitting on the stool at the end of the bed, Carla is now following her partner out of the room, and I'm still lying here with a crocheted blanket over me that I don't remember seeing.

"Your mom's a pain in my ass." I groan out slowly, wiping my eyes at the same time to relieve them from the light for a moment.

Scott chuckles slightly before I hear rustling. I take my hands away from my eyes at watch while he stands and walks to the side of the bed. "Glad to see you're still your happy self." His sarcasm earns a glare. "You heard the boss lady. Up and at em'. I'll drive you home before she drags you out by your ears."
