It has been a year since Annalise Montgomery lost her fifteen year old sister Lilly in the middle of a sunny day when she was waiting in a parking lot.
Annalise takes the case into her control when the police are empty handed. No leads, no traces, n...

Room eleven. Behind that chipped blue painted door is an extremely fragile task. My heart is hammering to allow all my questions to burst from my mind, but I know if I do- it will be a downfall.
Scott Walker offers me his final small smile as I slowly start to walk across the white and noisy hall. It's filled with visitors and staff, making it impossible for anyone to notice if I were to walk in that room. I doubt the police want anyone in there, but they seem to all be doing a terrible job at their work.
When I stand in front of the door without gaining attention, I look over my shoulder back to the blonde boy. He is leaning against the wall with his arms crossed as he simply watches me. I was waiting for him to pull a funny look that would convince me that his is a hoax and police are behind that door.
Scott doesn't seem to be oozing anything that worries me, so I turn back around and gently knock on the door. There is a slight moment of silence before a quiet voice calls for me to come in.
I push down the cold metal handle and open the door just enough for me to step and in and close it behind me.
There she is, staring back at me is Isla Marshell sitting on an uncomfortable looking bed. The tv across from her is still on and playing the random movie that is on live television.
Her dark eyebrows are pulled into a curious and nervous frown when he sees I'm not a nurse, doctor, or the police. "Hey." I clear my throat and uncomfortably rub my hands on my jeans. I hadn't thought this all through. "I'm Annalise."
Isla doesn't utter a word for me. I understand why, so I soak in her expressions to see if she is going to let me continue. A small bruise is visible on her cheekbone, and her hair seems knotted from lack of brushing since being here.
I admire her hair colour- it's what I had almost done to my own a few months after Lilly had disappeared. I can see her natural hair colour is dark enough to appear raven black, and she has had blonde foiled through.
It makes my stomach twist as it reminds me of my younger sisters natural hair. If her roots had of been blonde too, I would of felt even worse. "Who are you?" She questions with a shaky voice.
I've worried her already, and it forces me to hold my breath. "I'm not anyone here to interrogate you." As much as I would love to release my thousand rounds of questions, I have to remain cautious and weary of her. "I'm Annalise Montgomery. I wanted to see how you are."
My nails dig into the flesh of my hands. Already, I feel myself ruining all of this. I seem too suspicious for her, especially since we have never met before and no one is suppose to know she is here.
