It was only supposed to be a simple check up from a call made to the Seamville precinct with a tip off. Sheriff Walker had nothing else to attend to that night, so she rallied another two officers to take their cars and go with her.
What she wasn't prepared for, was finding Annalise Montgomery on the floor barely responsive and laying next to a pool of her own vomit.
She knew that it was an overdose straight away. Her many years of experience in the police force allowed her to understand. So, without rational thinking, she'd carried Nancy Drew out of the house and to her car.
Thankfully no other officers saw her, and the attendees of the party only assumed she was helping a stranger. If it had been any other officer who found her, she'd be sent to hospital, charged, and possibly jailed.
There was once a time when she would've allowed it to happen. But not now. Annalise was laid down on the backseat of her car while Sheriff Walker is speeding to someone she knows she can trust.
"Nina, I need your help!" Her phone is balanced in her lap, illegal, but she needs to do it. "I'm sorry to call so late, but it's an emergency and I really need your help right now. Can I meet you? At your place?"
Nina is a doctor, an old friend of Natalie's. She runs her own private facility, a small five treatment room hospital here in Seamville. It is closed at night, but Nina lives just next door to it. She is the same doctor who came over to the Walker house and changed Annalise's bandaged wrist.
"I have a young girl who needs help. I can't take her to the hospital." She won't tell her why yet. Not until she knows Nancy will be okay.
"I'll be out the front." Is all the doctor says before the call ends, and Sheriff Walker is now calling her son.
"Hi M-"
"Scott, I need your help." She doesn't let him speak. It is no doubt Nina wouldn't have her nurses with her since she's technically shut, so she needs the best help she can get. All hands on deck.
Natalie knows her son is in love with Annalise Montgomery. Gosh, she knew it from the day she saw them together for the first time at the abandoned house.
Those two were doomed to have each other.
"What's wrong?" Scott is panicked very easily. It is rare to hear his mother in such state. She often has the best poker face and handles everything calmly.
Sheriff Walker runs a red light, and pays no care. There is no one on the road, so she allows herself. "I found Annalise at a house I was investigating. She's having an overdose so I'm taking her to Nina's. Can you meet me there incase we need help?"
