The next day me and Harry woke up to loud banging at the front door. It was 10am and we were both up half the night talking so we weren't feeling fresh to say the least. I was still drained from all the crying I did yesterday so I still wasn't ready to get up.

"I'll get it." Harry yawned, pulling on some clothes.

I rolled over and closed my eyes again until Harry came back up. He stood at the doorway and called my name.

"Melanie, you probably need to get up." Harry said quietly.

I groaned and covered my head with a pillow.

"Your mum and dad are here baby."

My body froze and I pulled the pillow away from my face as I shot a worried look at him. Were they really back for more? I couldn't give them anymore. Yesterday was painful enough without whatever they're here now for. They must really love to see me fucking suffering. I reluctantly climbed out of bed and put some clothes on before wrapping my arms around Harrys stomach.

"You should probably stay up here." I said quietly.

"I'm not leaving you. They already hate me so it doesn't matter what I do. I'm not gunna let you go down there on your own after how upset you were yesterday."

"Harry-"

"I'm not leaving you." He repeated.

I didn't want to fight with him so I gave in. I took a deep breath and walked down the stairs, Harry followed and my parents were sitting on the sofa next to eachother. Just looking at them broke me inside. I didn't say anything to them I just sat on the other sofa and Harry sat next to me, placing his hand on my knee.

"We left it on a bad note yesterday Mel and we didn't want that to be it." My mum said.

I didn't say anything, I just stared at Harrys hand on my knee.

"We know you didn't have the best childhood Mel and we can't excuse that. I'm so sorry."

Didn't have the best childhood? That's a fucking understatement. Why were they here? I need a fucking break.

"And I have nothing against Harry." My dad said.

I snapped my head up to look at him and he nodded.

"The reason I wanted you to be with Jack is because he was there, ya know, when me and your mother weren't and I just figured if you could get through that you'd be good together. I really liked Jack you know I did. It was just hard for me and I'm sorry."

My body tensed at the sound of Jacks name and Harrys grip on my knee got tighter.

"Harrys helped me more than Jack did." I said with a low tone. "Jack didn't really know about you properly. Zayn was the only person that helped me get through what you did to us, not anyone else. Harry has helped me through Hannahs death and everything to do with Jack when he shot me. If it wasn't for Harry I wouldn't of been able to get through any of it so it's frustrating when you down talk him because he's amazing to me."

"We understand." My mum nodded.

"No you don't." I snapped. "You don't understand anything."

"Don't be like this Mel."

"Don't be like what mum?!" I said loudly. "You can't say you understand what I'm going through or what I'm feeling because you never have done and you never will."

"Melanie, sit back and don't talk to your mother like that." My dad snapped.

"Mother? She's not a mother, nor are you a father. Real mums and dads don't shut their kids away so they can go and take drugs with their fucking friends okay? So don't give me that bullshit."
