We stood at the bar for a while and he watched me sip my drink through the red straw.
"Who are your friends?" I said nodding my head towards the two people on his left.
"Oh yeah... this is Niall." He said patting the blonde boy on the shoulder. Niall stuck out his hand and I shook it.
"Nice to meet you lass." He smiled.
His accent took me by surprise. He was Irish and he had perfect teeth. Strange for me to notice but they were perfect.
"And that's Louis." Harry said pointing towards the other boy.
He had messy brown hair and tattoos down his arm like Harry, but the tattoos were very different. He shook my hand and smiled, his eyes creasing at the corners.
"You look pretty by the way." Harry said. "That dress is much more flattering than your apron." He winked at me and I felt my cheeks warm.
"Thanks." I smiled taking another sip of my drink.
"Wanna dance?" He said stepping in front of me.
If I was sober I probably wouldn't have but the vodka said yes and before I could say otherwise, me and Harry were moving around the dance floor together laughing and singing.
After a few songs Harry lowered his face and pressed his lips against mine. It took me by surprise and I pulled away.
"Oh I'm sorry Melanie, I-" He said putting one of his hands behind his neck.
I closed my eyes and walked away, grabbing Hannah as I rushed past her. We left the bar and walked towards my house, stumbling occasionally.
"What was that about?" Hannah slurred, unlocking her car and grabbing a bag. "You could of just said you wanted to leave."
I didn't answer her, I just continued to struggle unlocking my front door. After a few attempts, I finally pushed it open. Me and Hannah practically fell through the door and she threw her bag on the sofa before flopping down next to it.
"Spill it then." Her voice wavered as I walked into the kitchen.
I grabbed a glass of water and before I even turned back around again, Hannah was snoring. I went up to bed and laid in the dark fighting with myself.
"Mel, he's nice, it was only a kiss."
"I barely know him."
"He bought you a drink, he's nice."
"I don't need anymore boys in my life at the moment."
"Good because I think you've messed up your chance with this one."
It was literally like I had an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. I didn't even realise I had fallen asleep until I woke up to daylight streaming through my window.
I wondered into the living room and Hannah was sitting on the sofa rubbing her head with her eyes closed.
"Hey." I said groggily.
"Ugh, you sound as bad as I feel." She said laughing a little.
"My head is killing me." I said grabbing some paracetamols and a glass of water. "You want some?"
I threw the card of tablets onto the sofa and she popped two in her mouth before padding over to swallow them with my water.
We attempted to eat breakfast but decided against it as the flow of last nights vodka traveled up my body.
"What happened last night then?" She said flicking around some toast with her finger.
"This boy I met, he tried to kiss me."
"And? Is that really why you practically ran away?" She said with her eyebrows raised.
"I didn't expect it that's all." I frowned, knowing how pathetic I sounded.
"Was he hot?"
"Yeah he's been in the shop before, I just, I don't know..." I sighed.
"You're a special one babe." She laughed. "Look I'm gunna head home before I spew all over your carpet, we'll have to do this again... as soon I forget how shitty hangovers are!"
I hugged her tight and smiled as I shut the door behind her.
I decided to go back to bed and sleep off my hangover and forget about how embarrassed I feel about leaving Harry last night. I could never see myself with anyone else but my ex boyfriend and even though I didn't love him anymore, I still felt like I couldn't move on. I wanted to but there was something pulling me back... or maybe nothing was pulling me forward.
