We had loads of pictures taken before we headed off for the after party and I couldn't wait to get them all back and see how they turned out. I imagine they will be perfect. In fact, I know they will be perfect. Me and Harry had a white Rolls Royce with ribbon around the front of it to take us to the after party and just as Harry opened the door for me to climb in, someone tapped me on the shoulder.

I spun round and saw my mum and dad awkwardly standing behind me and Harry. Zayn was chatting to Louis but when he saw mum and dad near me, he came straight over.

"We're very proud of you Mel. We probably didn't deserve to be apart of your big day but we're grateful we're here." My dad said bowing his head slightly.

I think that's the nicest thing he has said to me my whole life... which says a lot really.

"It was a beautiful wedding Mel, and we can see how happy Harry makes you... it's nice to see. We want you to be happy you know?"

I nodded and Harry wrapped his arm around my waist tighter, pulling me closer beside him.

My dad cleared his throat and stuck his hand out infront of Harry. "I know you're good for my daughter. There's no doubt you will look after her."

"I have told you I-" Harry started.

"Harry, please." I whispered.

He nodded with a sigh and shook my fathers outstretched hand and my mum sighed with relief. She wrapped her arms around me which took me by surprise and she held me close.

"I'm so sorry." She cried. "I'm so so sorry."

I awkwardly hugged her back and pulled a face at Zayn but he just shrugged. I can't remember the last time I hugged my mum and it felt weird, almost wrong.

After a few moments she wiped her eyes and latched onto Zayn. She said something to him that I couldn't understand through her tears but he just nodded. I'm not sure if he understood what she said either but he looked just as awkward as I felt. This was all far to weird and not what I was expecting.

After me and Zayn had an awkward 2 second embrace with my dad aswell, my mum wiped her face and she smiled briefly.

"We should go then, we don't want to hold you up anymore."

"You can come if you want... to the after party." I offered.

"Really?" My mum grinned.

I'm not quite sure why I said that. Maybe having my mum crying onto my shoulder made me feel sorry for her? Or the fact my dad kind of, in his own way, tried to make a mends with Harry. Despite how shit my childhood was and despite how many arguments me and my parents have had over the years, I still wanted a relationship with them. I don't know why and I don't think it could ever be a good one. It would take so much time for us to be 'normal' again and I would have to work really hard on forgiving them... or maybe forgetting? I don't know, after all, they are my parents and when the day comes when they're not around anymore, at least I can say we kind of ended it in a good way?

"The more the merrier, hey?" Harry said, noticing that I hadn't yet responded.

I smiled at them both and nodded. "Yeah, We'll see you there."

"Thankyou." My mum whispered to me as they walked away.

I took a deep breath when they were gone and just watched them walk away together. I didn't really know what to think about what had just happened.

"I'm proud of you." Zayn said quietly as he draped his arm around my shoulder. "Things are finally looking up for you and you deserve it better than most."
